cs-555 remote replaced no under hood switch

I have a 1997 Lumina I'm the second owner. The car wireless remote wasn't working when i got it. The remote was a cs-555. The original owner has passed and this new remote will not program. I looked in the forms and they all link to a switch under the hood. I have looked under the hood and never found this pressure switch. I'm assuming it isn't installed or has been disconnected.

I do have a toggle switch and using a volt meter i know that works.. I have a little red light but it doesn't work either.

I have no directions what so ever for this unit. I have removed the bottom of the console so i could read the model. Its a black box and it doesn't have any numbers on it

How do I program with only the toggle switch. And yes i have lifted the hood and i never see any of the lights coming on.

Any help or even a book would be great. If need be give me a couple of books. I know the box has a lightining bolt on it. and it is a command start because there is a label under the hood..

Sorry for the slow reply.

On the unit under the dash there is a brown wire on the 9 pin plug. (Larger plug)
This is the hood switch wire.

Using a test light, hook on side to graound, and then probe the brown wire.
The parklights shouold come on. If they do you can use this method to reprogram the remote.

With the test light probe the brown wire.
The Lights come on.
While the lights are on remove and reprobe the brown wire quickly.
The lights should stay on.
Press button 1 until the lights go out.
Remove the test light, and try the remote starter.
