Does qik work for anybody? When i stream it takes really long for it to shown on the site... And on the site the stream doesn't even work.. I had better results on my HTC vogue. ..

when im streaming and i use a computer to check it out. . Its usually a frozen black screen.. Or really choppy video with white overlay... In conclusion it doesn't work at all... Im sure the phone is more than capable of streaming vs my vogue... Maybe its not supported or fully compatible yet?

So I have a ton of live wallpapers on my computer and I want to put them on my SGS but i cant find the appropriate folder... has anyone come across the folder yet?

You just put them on the phone and install.

So I got this Samsung Kies software working. Says there is a firmware update for the phone. Current version is JG9, new is JH2.

Warning this wipes your phone. Lost my apps etc. Not a huge deal but though I would mention it.

Phone seems a bit smoother now.. will keep playing around.

what exactly does this update do? Because since it wipes everything.. Is there a way i can do a full backup and restore?

I dont want to setup everything from zero

On xda someone suggested Titanium Backup but you need root for that

On the topic... anyone root their phone? Any warranty issues? Not sure if i should... or not

On nexus i read you can't go back and it might void your warranty if you take it in and they find out its rooted

You can root, and unroot. So go ahead and root. The nexus one was unlocking the bootloader, so it was a bit different.

I use Titanium Backup myself, you can do everything in a batch operation, for restore and backup.

I'll try this update tonight.

Kinda stuck on the updates.zip part... i transfer it to my sdcard? Doesn't explain in the guide what to do with it...

I put it in root of sd card and recovery mode doesn't find it

Edit: i think i figured it out... sdcard means the internal one? Confusing name... anyways put it in there through myfiles app and now im trying again... i'm guessing this is right

edit2: rooted backing up with titanium, about to do the update

So you guys are loving your Bell Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant? Doesn't look like Telus is getting the same Galaxy. I am thinking Captivate/Vibrant > HTC Desire > Milestone/Nexus One/X10 etc etc.
Am I on the right mind to conclude that? Now just have to decide if I'll go Android over Iphone.

Love the phone.

I think the update also improved my battery life. 45% right now from this morning at 7:00 am. About 10-15% more than I had past few days. Moderate use, listening to music today at work.

Hm, did they pull the update? Ran Kies, plugged the phone in, no message about an upgrade now.

Btw how the hell do you start Kies if you are using ADW? I had to start TwLauncher.

GoChris i think they did... i posted on xda too... while i was trying it, someone posted they couldn't...

So I asked if they pulled it too... nobody knows but someone mentioned downgrading a firmware and trying to upgrade... though another said that don't work either

I started Kies with launcher pro running. I had to make sure the phone wasnt locked or in sleep when i plugged it in however.
