Default Local Hikes - Family Friendly?

Hey all, I'm looking to go on a hike this afternoon or tomorrow qith my wife and kids. Does anyone know of some very tame hikes in Kananaskis that would be stroller friendly? We have a 3 year old and a one year old. We don't have a carrier for the baby unfortunately, so the stroller will have to do.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Johnstons Canyon, saw quite a few families this weekend with strollers. Its quite nice, and its easy. You wont be able to make it to ink pots(6km) as after a certain point there is stairs and its just bare ground with jagged rocks, but the waterfalls and the nicer looking stuff is paved.

If you want to borrow a carrier I have one you can use, hiking with a stroller is so rough.

It's a Mei Tai, so pretty versatile as far as options go (front carry, back carry, hip carry) Let me know if you're interested! My 2 year old still loves to ride in it so it'd be great for your littlest one!

^^ What Abyss said, we have the same carrier as them, and also have a hiking backpack kid carrier that you are welcome to use too.

Look up troll falls. The hike to the main waterfall is an easy one, and your little ones (if the 1 year old is walking) will have a great time climbing over some of the rocks and even splashing around in the stream once you get to the end.

TROLL FALLS in kanaskis is an easy hike its about 1.5 kms. Also here is a good site i use for finding trails; you can set difficulties and distances in your search options.

300 km? Are you high? If you live in south Calgary kananaskis is a 20 minute drive. We rack up more km on our car driving to see our friends in kincora than we do heading out for a day in k-country.

If you go to banff or something you're looking at around 300 total.

Does anyone know the point of driving 300km around the city to end up back at home having seen nothing new?

I can't believe how many people in this city have never been to the mountains. Not just driving through or stopping in Banff, but actually hiking a mountain or seeing some of the natural wonders that are literally minutes away. I love hiking at places like Mt St. Piran because you can get to the top of the mountain and back down in 5 hours, then at the bottom when people ask why you have all your hiking gear they all seem blown away that going up and down a mountain is not always a multi-day epic adventure.

As for the OP, call the k-country info center and ask. If the stroller has big pneumatic tires try either Silver Springs trail or Tom Snow (both at Moose Mountain in Bragg Creek) leaving from Station Flatts. Both are smooth gravel paths.
