I don't know why you'd want to go off contract... it's a $500 savings, and they'll let you HUP again in 2 years so it's about a $20/month savings.

Yeah its apparently $159/$269 on Telus/Bell/Rogers/Fido/Virgin...so everyone.

Why would you want to go off contract?

If you spend the $769 on a factory unlocked iPhone 4, then when iPhone 5 comes out you can sell you unlocked iPhone 4 for around $600 and off set the cost of another unlocked iPhone 5.

Yeah, I guess for people who need to upgrade their phone every year that might make sense. I think 2 years is a perfect cycle... I bet 2011 will just bring the iPhone 4G with minor changes elsewhere (and maybe a 1GHz processor instead of 800MHz), and 2012 will bring the iPhone5.

There's no unlock for the iPhone 4 yet.

Also, as of 12:20 or so, there are no more iPhones in stock. I checked on my lunch break. No ETA was given to me.

Yup. But if you've ever travelled with a jailbroken/unlocked iPhone and experienced all the random problems associated with it, it's just not worth it.

Really? I travelled all over asia with a jailbroken/unlocked Iphone 2G, I was impressed at how seamless it was, never had a problem, pop in sim card and go.

Although I am gonna wait for the white one, I did the upgrade check on Fido website, this is what it told me.
