Does Shell still have the reputation of selling the best gas in comparison to Esso, Husky, Mohawk etc?

If you ask Toma, he says it has yeilded some of the best results on the dyno, besides Husky 94 of course haha. I tuned my car on husky 94, and am running 91 shell, and have no detonation so far, so seems decent.

I switched from huskey to shell in my land rover and got about 80 more kms a tank.
I didnt notice any performance difference. But hey, its a land rover.
Life is too short to drive boring cars.
^^ same result here. I've gotten way better milage with shell premium compared to Husky/others.
Personally don't like using Shell in either my car or my ATV. Don't care in our truck because its a truck anyway and it doesn't really show a difference.
The Husky higher grades have ethanol which actually lowers mileage -- but is great for HP/Torque in a forced injection car.
Do you mean forced INDUCTION?Originally posted by D. Dub

shell > *
unless you have a subaru, i have found them to like husky gas better, really just 94
As I recall, there was a thread here about it before. Shell does have the better gas IMHO. I've used P.Can and Esso also, and if i can't find a Shell station, then i use ESSO. Esso has great gas too. I found that P.Can has the worst and the get the worst mileage from them.
Chevron > Shell > Esso > everyone else.

Shell gas contains no ethanol afaik, hence the better mileage numbers.

Please PM me, thanks!
yes shell still maintains it's reputation for great gas. petro can is horrid and yields poorly with forced induction on the dyno.
the only places i fill up at are shell or husky/mohawk... sometimes CO-OP but thats only because they apparently are supplied by shell at some locations...
I worked as a assistant manager at a coop gas station for 3 odd years... I ordered the fuel directly from a Coop owned Refinery in Saskatoon. Where all Coop's get our gas. If the retail Coop gas station is unable to get gas from the Refinery, we take it from the Coop Cardlock stations.Originally posted by Sil80_D

Delayed shipping on my wheel order so I could be hard.
I usually go with Esso.
I still miss the high octane Chevron fuel in BC though That stuff burned sooo slow, and made my engine feel like it was on steroids!

Really? I was told by the Macleod location manager that they got their gas from Shell, but without the Shell additives. Weird.Originally posted by maxtrbo93

Shell FTW. Airmiles don't hurt either.
Interesting thread, wish there was some solid testing and facts to be found. A fine newspaper article for sure, along with the testing of the water at wand car washes in Calgary.
There you go lazy "journalists" AKA reporters, two topics and easy to make into a week long series for each.
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
