Spine for a Spine.
Did he DDT the guy and break his back on purpose?

I fuckin love eye for an eye justice. Good on em :P
Little on the extreme compared to Canada's slap on the wrist justice, that's for sure.

Wow.
There are some really fucked up ideas on this earth.
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength.
For some reason it almost seem like this comes of as going to far only because we never hear of this, how diffrent is this then execution?
I guess it depends if this guy intentionally paralysed the other person.
I favor an eye for an eye justice but if it was a simple bar fight and the accused didn't intent to brake the victim's spine then i think it's too far. but if the accused power slammed the victim on a curb then yes IMHO it's fair.

From the comments:
"The US had a 2008 presidential candidate (Libertarian, Constitution and Southern parties) who proposed something exactly like this in his platform.
He failed to get anywhere with his campaign, though, undoubtedly because he is nuttier than squirrel shit. "
The eye for an eye punishment is ideal however if it wasn't intentional that is another story. If he was trying to seriously hurt that person then yes I think his spinal cord should be severed as well.
He attacked the guy with an axe/hachette....I'm sure there was NO intention to kill/seriously harm him.
lol.. What do you think he would do when he knows he'll have to have his spine severed willingly? Probably go on a killing spree and then end it there
I think the problem here lies in that they could always have the wrong guy. Something like this is kind of irreversible...
I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but as the saying goes...
you do the crime, you lose your spine?
