Oh for sure I'd be pissed and would want Merle dead as well. He seemed pissed that Merle was alive and that rick let Darryl just walk away. There really wasn't any other way around the situation. If they killed Merle, I really doubt Daryl would have just let bygones be bygones and join the group again. On the other hand, if they let Merle leave, Daryls not exactly going to leave his brother alone to fend for himself. The only other solution was to let Merle join them, but Glenn definitely would not have gone for that. So really, I don't really see how glenn expected rick to keep Daryl in the group. Maybe he was just pissed off and wanted to yell at someone..

There was no character development for that guy, he was more of a transition filler.

I sure hope the end battle between the governer and Rick is as good as they are building it up to be.

Anyone find it weird how rick went completely batshit crazy and non-functional in basically one and a half episodes? He was fine for most of last episode and was able to pull off a swat team style rescue. It's not like it was the first time he's heard voices or seen Laurie either. Then in this episode, he's completely off his rocker and goes for a walk in the woods and almost gets himself killed.
