Meet Samantha:
Anyone who knows me knows that I've ALWAYS wanted a 1991 Honda CRX Si. Ideally, it would be black, but I decided to look for a clean shell with as little rust/damage as possible.
And so I stumbled upon Samantha, owned by the daughter of the original owner, and left nearly untouched. 192,xxx KM on the original D16A6, and completely stock. No accidents on her title, and only a few minor imperfections on the body (minor rust on both rear wheel wells and sunroof, small dent on drivers door, something funky going on with passenger headlight). For an old girl she's in the best shape I could have hoped for.
Samantha called to me. "Cam," she said earnestly, "drive my beautiful teal ass home."
I resisted, committed to not making any impulse purchases this year.
"Cam," she said impatiently, "I've never been in an accident and my owner doesn't know what I'm worth. You can have me for a steal. Come on, drive me home."
And so I did.
Unfortunately, Sam does need some surgery: she needs two new CV boots, a right-front upper ball joint, and some new brake pads. Fortunately for Sam, her loving owner (who has always had a soft spot for CRX's) is planning to take good care of her.
Of course, before I swap in a B18b I intend to ebay turbo the D16 and see how it holds up.
So, as I said before, meet Samantha.
