Living in Etown had been brutal we have had 200mm or so of precipitation this since the beginning of June. We had more snow here in May tan the rest of the winter. The snow stayed until the first week of June. June we had 5 days without some sort of precipitation, July we had 9 days without some sort of precipitation. August has had about 1/3 days without precipitation and we have not had a single day recorded with a temp above 30 degrees.

Vancouver on the other hand has had only 70mm of rain this summer. Unfortunately I went down for the RevScene Sausagefest from Aug 26 to Aug 30, in those 4 days Van received 50 of its 70mm of rain. I was in Montreal for the F1 race and even there it still rained most days in the morning.

Overall I have had a pretty terrible summer weather wise.

I don't remember having such a bad summer. It was better last year and the year before. There were more hot sunny days.

As some of you may know, I own an exterior reno company, everything from siding, to stucco, roofing, stone, windows. anyways

last year I did 313 jobs in calgary.
this year, because of all the shitty fucking weather, we've done less then half of that, and its sept. my seasons over in just a few weeks.

The weather this year sickens me. Like someone posted earlier, we've had just a hand full of nice days this year. Last year I remember going to the lake every weekend. this year I went once.

I was going to strip my fence this year and paint it. All I needed was maybe 4 days of consecutive nice weather.

As you might imagine, the fence is still fucked.

I know a few people who got screwed that way. I had some decks and fences lined up towards the beginning of the summer, where we got 3 weeks straight of rain, with some snow, and out of the bids that I won, half of them said "fuck it, next year" and a lot of the others said they didn't care about warranty "if it's a nice day, just do it and hope it dries up".

According to records June and July had about average rainfall this year for Calgary while August had about 25mm more rain than normal.

In terms of volume, sure. To me, that just means it rained less volume for longer periods of time.

There was a lot of rain this year, but I remember there was a summer probably about 5 or 6 years ago ish, where I swear it rained for two whole weeks straight. Anyone remember this??

Was it in May or June, and was it for the entire month? Hah I don't remember it being THAT long, but I did remember it seemed like it was raining non stop for a while. I think that was the craziest rain I've ever seen in Calgary.

We swapped with Vancouver alright, but not summers.... this is typical Vancouver winter weather.

I love how they started using that term interchangeably when they started noticing it wasn't warming anymore... until one day it just became Climate change and anything that could be considered out of the ordinary was suddenly the result of human interferance.

haha, back in the late 70's they were saying that pollution was blocking out sun energy and as a result it would send us into the next ice age, lol

Meanwhile sunspot theories on planetary warming and cooling have been spot on... pardon the pun.
Its pretty ridicilous... its called a weather cycle. The world has gone through many of them. Did you know that Calgary was once completely covered by a glacier? Did the cavemen's motor vehicles melt that too?

If you think your tax dollars shouldn't be wasted on pedestrian bridges.... you should be more concerned with it funding bullshit research projects. What a joke.
