Default New Tires for my 4Runner

    Hey guys,

It's time for my 4runner to get some new shoes, and I was just wondering if 285/75/r16s will fit. I have a 2-2.5" Old Man Emu lift. Will any fender trimming need to be done, or will that lift be enough clearance?

Also, some advice on what kind of tires I should purchase would be great too. I do a lot of highway/city driving, and some offroading as well. I have 265/70/r16 Michelin MTS right now.

    Thanks.

I am assuming you have a 3rd gen 4Runner. If so a 285/75-16 will fit however you might run into slight rubbing issues under full steer and full articulation when off roading but as long as you don't mind a slight tire rub once in a while it will work fine. Also going to the 285/75/16 will throw off your speedo because the 285's are 6.8% overall diameter difference from the stock size meaning if your going 100km/h your speedo will say your going 93.2km/h.

For the type of driving your doing I would recommend going with an All Terrain tire like a Toyo Open Country A/T, Nitto Terra Grapler, or Pro Comp Xtreme A/T. If you would like me to price out some options for you give us a call or shoot me a pm.

    Thanks.

those tires will fit on your 4runner.
As for brand, I recommend BFG All terrain KO. I've had them on my 4th gen 4runner for a year now and they are great in all alberta conditions.

Bridgestone Revos were really good on my 4th gen when I had the vehicle. Nice semi-aggressive treads.
