    Default Shaw's loyalty department

Hey guys, thought I would post my experience with Shaw's loyalty department.

I called Telus and had them quote me a monthly price for the exact same services that Shaw was offering me. I had no intention of switching service providers but I wanted to see how Shaw would respond with a threat that I was switching to Telus.

They offered me, Extreme-I, HD-Plus, basic cable, internet phone with free Canada wide long distance, and the brand new HD-PVR rental for a year for 73.95$ a month for 12 months, with the option of purchasing NHL center ice for 100$ which is 50% off.

Just a heads up, doing this saved me over 70$ a month

Curious...I have Shaw's basic high speed internet service, is there a huge speed increase for upgrading to the next level??

I only use my net for the basic shit...surfing and music downloading really...

It's called the Retentions department, and any cell/tv/internet provider has them. They will pretty much do anything to retain you as a customer, so I suggest that everyone call right now and threaten to cancel their tv, internet, and cell phone. I guarantee you that you'll get substantial savings AND better service.

Not to rain on the parade but I called the loyalty department and they did not seem to care about matching telus offer. The agent even went to the extent to say that if I cancel before the 20th I won’t get billed anything additional.

They would not even offer a discount on NHL CI.

Been with shaw with internet/tv for 11 years no missed or late bills. So I was little shocked that they were willing to walk me out so quickly.

did you know it IS NOT called a retentions department? retentions are the ones that handle the accounts that people have not paid... and the cancellation of accounts, payment plans, etc. the loyalty department is the one that gives you the deals.

More or less in a non rude way. My personal expericen with shaw the last few days has not been overly great. I find that there staff (at least the ones I delt with) did not seem to know what was going on.
There only answer to not leaving shaw was that they dont have a contract were Telus and Bell both do.
