Netflix launches in Canada today!

As expected, Netflix has kicked off its first offering outside the United States by opening up a Watch Instantly portal for Canadians this morning at Netflix.ca.

awesome, don't exactly like how you have to have Xbox Gold to use it there, thankfully i have a Wii as well

Wonder how you do this for the wii and the ps3? i haven't seen any apps for either yet. but you might just have to use it through the browser?

Update your PS3 firmware and you will see Netflix under Video menu.

i checked it out, out of my 5 searches ZERO were available at this moment.

I could'nt figure out if they streaming HD or not?

Netflix is only good for old movies with a small selection of new movies. $8/month unlimited, can't expect every brand new hollywood blockbuster in the system. If you're looking for new movies, AppleTV is your best bet.

It's good if you want movies in the background while you're doing other shit. I've had US netflix for a while, kinda nice I can use it on PS3 now.

xbox is expected next month.


basically you can link the accounts, just like on many popular site where you can "connect with facebook" same idea, you'll put your netflix info in on the netflix app to "connect with netflix" for the xbox app and basically grant the app permission to access your account.

I shouldn't have signed up yet since its not on xbox yet, i don't anticipate watching too much on the pc, but they're sending me a wii disc though i guess

Anyone else kinda annoyed that they give you the option to rate a whole bunch of programs that they don't even offer?

I kept rating southpark and they don't even have it.

Its fucking strange, you can search for shows like eastbound and down, and it has info on it but it says its not available??

Is that because the service hasn't been completely rolled out yet? Or that they're just trying to taunt me lol

they most likely have it, just don't offer it to Canadians yet, instead of making a new database they probably just use the one in the US and restrict movies to residents in Canada

I was looking into it at first but then I heard the selection for new movies is quite low. Might hold off until the selection improves.
