Default Opinions on Rona brand paint?

Just wondering what people's opinions are on the Rona paint? They've got a 3 for 2 sale on this weekend but if its complete garbage paint, I'll pass.

It's going onto new drywall which has been primed with new drywall primer, then lightly sanded so absorbtion into the drywall shouldn't be an issue.

I just used it for touch-ups on a house that was sold, I didn't see any difference, could have long-run effects though?

    It's pretty crappy.

I would stick with the PPG Manor Hall paint at Totem. It goes on really evenly and doesn't splatter as you roll.

With paint it is always "you get what you pay for".

I've worked with a few paint products. I haven't worked with RONA paint yet. If you are still looking around, I would try Aura from Benjamin moore as long as you only use their interior line. However, I don't really think there is a huge difference in paint quality between brands, unless you are working exterior where I think buying quality paint makes a difference.

Let us know how it works out.

Its decent stuff I used it in the basement. Was using Aura and benjamin moore stuff. I got tires of paying 70$ per galon for Aura plus it dries to fast.

They can color match it to the moore stuff as they have the codes.

Rona select in various styles is what I used.

I got some at 2 for 1 recently,at 18.00$ per gallon its a smoking deal. As good or better than some paint I have paid in excess of 50$ per gallon for.

Ok I tried the paint out. If you read closely, it is CIL paint. Which, I've had friends even complain about it and it's lack of coverage.

Overall, the paint wasn't bad. It wasn't the best but it worked. It wasn't as thick as other paints and you could tell it was watered down or however you would describe it. But with 2 coats, it covered. It did splatter a little more than other paints but I wasn't too concered as I don't have carpet down yet or baseboards.

I'd say go for it if you're cost cutting.
