    Default Really Effective Commercials

What commercials do you think are really effective at:

    a) Selling new products.
    b) Changing the perception of a brand.
    c) Getting you to think about its messaging.

One of the ones I really like right now is:

I like it because the "Hold True" slogan, combined with the laid back guitar riff and vocals, helps showcase Alexander Keiths as a "righteous" or "socially responsible" decision. It's promoting the messaging of integrity and ethics with the imagry that it uses throughout, and it ties directly into the stereotype that is socially acceptable (laid back, decent looking guy, having fun with friends, etc.)

    What are your favourites?

i would have to disagree on the Keith's one... i feel it is just trying too hard... kinda provokes the same thoughts i get when listening to a nickleback song

i love the old spice ones though... pretty much all of them, the ones with the "your man can't be me, but he came smell like me" and the newer swagger ones

Yea, they were really well done. They completely changed the way the brand is recognized!

I really like the Don Queros XX Beer ads. The character is recognizable, and in an odd sense admirable (in spite of being completely unrealistic).

There's a Grand Cherokee campaign playing down here in the states that plays towards patriotism and rebuilding the country. There's a slow musical theme mostly with industrial sounds clanging. It builds slowly and really creates an introspective mood.

It starts off, "...We were once a nation of builders....". I think it does really well at tugging on the heart-strings and sentimentality of the American legacy of innovation and quality (in the initial years).

The new Jeep GC looks nice. Hopefully they pull through on their end and have created a great vehicle since they are basically playing the Patriotism card. I think it would be insulting for them to do so if what they've "remade" is the same old junk.

No offence OP, but where the fuck did you get this message from!?!?!?!....all I see is some dude in his 20's, who probably prefers going to pubs over clubs and listening to alternative rock music and hates "rap" and is probably from the East Coast or Saskatchewan and he's just hanging out with all friends and doing what he likes to do.... ...what the fuck does that have to do with integrity and ethics? Do you work for Alexander Keiths?

I can't even stand canadian commercials anymore. All of them are utter garbage. So boring and plain. The cell company ones seem to be the worst with the exception of Telus.

US ones seem better but the best ones are European.

Look up 'MTS' Commercials... (Manitoba Telephone)
Almost each and every one is pretty golden.
