16 days (3 weeks but I somehow got an extra day...).
Been here for two years, but that's what I started with. I don't think there is any realistic hope to get more as none of my superiors seem to have more.
+ whatever overtime I've worked
none
2 weeks
3 weeks
4+ weeks

Wow, after reading this thread, I definitely feel like I'm working hard, and not smart

Not a manager but I do spend extra hours unreported. Maybe I'm one of the last "I love my job" type of people! LOL!

heloc that shit
part time daytrader and I'm pretty bad at it
Three weeks base vacation, 12 flex days, 12 stat holidays, we have flexible benefits, so i can buy up to 10 days extra vacation.
Get banked time for time on-call or in the field on the weekend, so that's usualyl another 10 days or so a year.
This year it all added up to 45 days plus the 12 stats.
I get to 4 weeks base vacation at 10 years expereince, and I'm a feww years from that.

I get 3 weeks in Canada. But talking to people from other countries like France, Australia, Switzerland... they get minimum 4 weeks to start. Most of them have 6 weeks vacation on avg.
France is the best place to work. Minimum 2 months vacations per year. Plus if a public holiday falls mid-week (eg wednesday), they'll get thursday, friday and the weekend off automatically.
makes me think we work too hard in n. america. it's sad to think we just think 2 weeks vacation per year is okay. most of us are in the 3 weeks bracket.... which is still pretty sad compared to the rest of the world
We do work a lot harder than France but have you seen how 'productive' they are? Ever try to order something form France? Frustrating as hell.Originally posted by yellowsnow

Move to Japan or China. I think our quality of life is just fine. I don't want any more vacation time- I'd have no idea what to do with it.Originally posted by yellowsnow

Really? Some of you guys don't want more holiday?
I get roughly 11 weeks of holiday and I would love to have twice as much, even 3 times as much. I can think of a billion things I'd rather be doing than working all day, and I like my job.
Also I believe it's been proven that people are more productive with shorter work days. I think it is Spain that has a higher per capita GDP than anywhere in North America and they work WAY less than what the norm is over here.

Thanks to you guys and this thread, I just negotiated my way up to 3 weeks from 2 haha. But we don't have it that bad, the worst countries in terms of paid holidays are the US and Japan, which by law only allows for 1 week.
52 weeks
