    Default pumpkin spiced beer

Hey guys, we all know Halloween is around the corner, by buddy from Vancouver told me he bought some St. Amboise pumpkin spiced beer. I tried the liquor depot here locally and even the superstore liquor places, but no luck. Any of you guys know of nay place that would sell a pumpkin spiced beer? thanks

Willow Park or (some) Co-Op liquor stores will have it.

I saw some at the Co-Op Liq on MacLeod just south of Glenmore. Don't remember what brand it was, though.

Alleykat was OK. I liked Post Road (Brooklyn Brewery I think) better. I had a bottle of Howe Sound Brewery's Pumpkineater the other day that I loved. It was a little more subtle in spice flavour which I enjoyed.

pumpkin spice has been around for years. Its all limited batch usually for just october. The St Ambroise is amazing.

Big Rock made one similar to this last year. Winter spice i think. Hints of nutmeg in it.

After I saw this thread, I went to go pick up some (srs).

I bought some Alley Kat "Pumpkin Pie Spiced Ale"

It's not bad... but it can definitely get old fast.

I definitely taste the spice in it, but I have never had pumpkin pie just sayin.

OK, so at co-op they have pint-sized bottles of "pumpkinhead," didn't check what brewery it was from. I think it was like $8.99 a bottle or so.

    I need to try this.

Do we have a general beer thread?

I picked up something new on Friday. Its Belgian, Hoegaarden. Its a white citrus type beer, like Rickards White etc. Very good. I am digging this kind of beer lately, really growing to hate all the skunky shit thats out there.

Wow, first intro to Hoegaarden? Its good stuff....Most unfiltered whites are very good.....Rickards is nasty compared to the real ones.....

Sam Adams Octoberfest is out right now too, which is a decent amber...

I found winterspice to be not very much like the pumpkin beers, but more chocolatey and nutmegish...

Any other self brewers in here? I'm working on a Trad clone right now....

Haha, sorry. I picked it up at the Wine Cavern in Lethbridge. Any wine shop that carries craft beer should have it. I don't know about Calgary specifically.

Tried the Sam Adams Octoberfest last week, it's not bad. Picked it up from the WillowPark liquor store.
