Cops have wrote down my license plate many times and nothing has happened, I wouldn't worry about it

same thing like going to the a club/ bar that has bar watch, I've been stopped a few random times by cops asking for my i.d. writing all my info down, i ask them why, they say "you have anything to be worried about?" - no, but its annoying. it doesnt harm you though.

I'm sure that cops have run my license plate dozens of times...but this one actually wrote it down?!

Does anyone know why the cops took down my license plate? {assuming}
I was at the mcdonalds by diefenbaker high school and i wasnt doing anything illegal. not speeding or whatever, just parked my car and got out. Then when i left, the school cop pulled out some paper and a pencil and started looking at my license plate when i left. And im wondering am i going to get a ticket and is there a reason for them to do it?
