    @ Original...
I'm not sure but i think the replacement wheels are fairly light as well. I could be wrong
As for the paintjob, I've decided to do it myself
Just waiting to get this motor running, then i'll start prepping the body asap.

As for parts, I think all i require for now is the throttle cable which i SHOULD be picking up this wknd.
I'm sure there'll be one or 2 silly li'l things i'll require in which case I'll drop u a PM

    Thanks AA2001.
    Next comes paint.......
    then comes motor swap

    TOdays update

So after the 4-5 hrs of effort my buddy & i put into the car today, anybody walking in woulda said we did nothing.
The intention was to get the motor wired then move onto piping.
However, part of wiring was seperating the engine harness from the headlight harness.
The headlight portion is going to run under the fender so It had to be pulled into the car.
Most of you may recall id already done the driver side but couldnt do this side cos of insufficient space to pull off the fender.
Well, with a helping hand today, i got the car moved & the fender off.

Without going into too much detail, we had the motor 80% wired & we decided to unplug & re-loom the harness.
There were cables that were short & due to it being pulled to ensure it reached, I ended off with my dizzt connectors sitting halfway across the motor behind the intake mani.

So in the end, everything was unplugged with the intent to re-loom & maybe extend a few cables if necessary.
Ièm going to be printing a copy of the ecu diagram as well to help us along.
Sorry for the lack of pics cos i was more eager to get it done than get take pics of my buddy working.

No progress will take place this wknd since i i have family commitments.
Expect some good inorovements early part of next week

    Yet Another update...

I spent the past weekend in EDM closing a few deals & picking up some stuff for my build.
Then on my return, I took care of the mods on my EF harness ie. dizzy & injector plug changes.

1st up was changing the plugs on the dizzy...
At first i was going to makeup a jumper harness cos i have both OBD0 & OBD1 harnesses available.
Then i found it to be pretty easy to de-pin & re-pin the plugs.

Some vital info for those that havn't done this before (people like me )
When attempting to remove the grommet/insulator from the back of the OBD1 plug, run a flat screw driver around the circumference of the grommet. Simply rotating it around will break the seal & even start to raise it off the base.
If you try to pry it off without running it around the circumference, you tend to dig into the grommet & its breaks as it comes off.
I decided to take pics a li'l late but here are the ones i took
Wires transferred over to OBD1 plug.
You can clearly see how the grommet/insulation gets installed.I slit the grommet to get it over the wires. I figured its easier than trying to pass the wires thru the hole with the pin still on the wire....especially in the case of the thicker cables.

    Completed the 1st plug

    Initial Pic showing Wiring layout.
I was sure to take pics & also make a drawing.
I really didn't wana mess up with the wrong wiring layout upon re-assembly

white cover removed thus exposing clips holding the pins in place

At first i was working with 2 screw drivers....one to life the clip up & the other to push out the pin. Very difficult when you're working alone.
So, I resorted to using a spade connector to slide between the clip & the pin.
Then place the plug on the edge of a table & pushed the pin out with a fair amount of force whilst at the same time pulling the wire from the back.
You'll note that I did not remove the grommets from the cable first. I did not have a screw driver small enough to do this. As a result, the pin/wire combo pulled out with the grommet attached to it.

This is what it looked like when i started the re-asssembly

    END PRODUCT

I also attempted de-pinning the injector plugs but that mission was a fail
So, I resorted to cutting & soldering the wires.
I was concerned at first about the polarity etc but Its pretty easy once you look at the cables on both harnesses. There is a common color that runs on all 4 injector plugs.
Make sure these colors match up.
Then, you can solder the remaining colored cable to the other pin.
Insulate the joint & You're All Done

Apart from this, lotsa effort went into figuring out the actual wiring layout in the bay.
As i mentioned previously, one or 2 cables were short SO, i removed the loom insulation from most of the harness to give more flexibility.
Laying out the harness on the floor, you can pretty much see where everything plugs in....well.....that's where the head aches began.

I had only 1, 3wire plug on the harness & i knew the TPS & map were both 3wire connectors.
I wrecked my brain on this for 2 days, then went & took a look in the car.
Turns out the map sensor runs into the bay seperately so its all there
With that said, the intent was to do wiring today but now i'm coming down with the dam flu again (3rd time in 3months)

Anyway, i'm high on meds right now so hopefully I'll wakeup in better shape tomorrow

    Final update for today

My New track wheels picked up over the weekend.
They're a bit dirty & have a few scratches but its nothing to be bothered about....A good clean is first on the list and as for paint, well....I havn't decided whether to repaint them or not.
They're going on a track car afterall so does it Really need to be 100% PERFECT????
    15" Rota Slipstreams

I also managed to pickup my Jumper harness.
i'm sure you guys know what it looks like but here's a pic anyway.

    Thanks StreetHondas

    Update:
I havn't been updating this thread but I been busy making progress in the interim.

I think its safe to say we're 90% complete with wiring the motor.
Ran into hassles figuring out the thermostat plug & wiring along with knock sensor wiring.
Managed to figure all of that stuff out.
So as it stands, all i gotta do is connect the additional sensor wires to the jumper harness & wiring will be 100% complete.

The passenger side headlight harness is pulled into the cabin.
Just needs to be run along the outside to complete that side of the wire tuck.

I've ordered new balljoing & tierod ends along with radiator hoses, valve cover gasket & a few other goodies. Once that arrives, I'll be ready to startup.

Issue i've come across now is the radiator sits a bit far to the right, so using the original upper radiator hose results in the hose pressing against the oil pressure switch plug. That's definitely not healthy so i'm left trying to figure out whether i'm gona find a hose to suit the application or fork out cash for an EF radiator. The radiator i've got mocked up right now is an EG radiator.
(feel free to share your thoughts on this issue)

I've also been doing some online dealings & picked up a few good deals apart from the O2 sensor i needed.
I'll let you guys know what these goodies are, once i have them in my hands

Its been faaar too long since I had an update so here goes.....
    After getting everything fully asssembled on Sunday 2 weekends ago, I turned the key & Voila.....NOTHING! ! ! ! ! !
Not even a crank of the motor much less the fuel pump kicking in.
It was too late & i was too tired to figure it out so I left it for the next day.
10Min after troubleshooting I found I'd left a plug outa the fuse box in the enginebay.
Now i was getting the fuel pump going but still no turn of the motor.
After a few hours of troubleshooting, I felt like a total idiot when I found the fault.
I Didn't have the clutch in, each time i tried to start the car
(Note, back home we don't use the clutch when trying to start a car)

So long story short, the motor fired up @ approx 22:30 & with no exhaust, I get the feeling my neighbours weren't my biggest fans that night

Next up was throwing some wheels on but I found that one of the axles had the thread slightly damaged so I tried to recut the thread with a die.
I was unsuccessful & coupled with the fact i think the shafts are binding, I'm gona be ordering a set of 90-93 Teg shafts.
That should solve all my issues

Before i go on, I owe thanks to a few guys:
Marc for loaning me his hoist....For about 4 months
Jonathan for loaning me wheels to move the car around with
Zee(streethondas) for helping me secure the Hood & storing it for me

Apart from all this, I been busy accumulating other goodies & installing some of them on the car.
A few pics of the car as she stands now.....& some of the new goodies

Progress on the civic for the next few weeks will be minimal.
I received material for my basement today so I'm gona be caughtup working on that for a bit.

Once the basements complete, I'm gona tackle body prep & paint before doing the final Racemotor install.
(think i mentioned the B16 was merely a test fit)

The sleeve? You can get that anywhere they sell wiring supplies. Some are heat/oil resistant, and come in many different colors. Heatshrink recommended, makes your looms look gooood.
