    Default Vet Recommendation

Beyonders with pets, what Vet location do you go to? I recently got a puppy and she's needs her 2nd and 3rd booster shots, as well as other shots that she needs. I've done a bit of research and found a few vets that are cheaper than others. I just want to hear some feedbacks on the vets that you go to. preferably one in the NW/NE area.

This is the vet we used:

    Dr. Gidda
    Phone: (403) 295-1554
    Suite 15, 6219 Centre Street N.,
    Located in Simons Valley Square

It's been 4 yrs (our dog passed away) since we seen him. Highly recommend him as he honestly cares about your pet.

Dewinton pet hospital treats us great and has great prices. Probably way out of the way for you (I know) but worth the trip!

Take the drive to Airdrie if you are in the North and go the the Airdrie Animal Health Centre... We have 3 dogs and started going to the guys while we lived in Calgary on the recommendation of a friend who lived there. They are awesome vets and every thing we have had done (neuter, shots etc) has been WAY less expensive then any vets in Calgary we could find... I am talking anywhere from 15% to 40% cheaper... They have been our regular vet ever since with zero regrets.

Definitely worth the 15 minute drive!

I bring my buddy to the Edgemont Vet Clinic

Dr. Olynyk is an awesome vet!

It's beside the Mac's across from the Health club

    34 Edgedale Drive NW
    Calgary, AB T3A 2R4
    (403) 239-4657

Edit: Forgot to mention that the price here is average, if you want cheaper I think my friend goes to the Trans Canada Vet clinic. But you should choose Vet over price.

Harvest Hills Vet Clinic in Coventry Hills
    Dr. Les McCurdy

He's a really nice guy and the assistants are great. I did not like Country Hills Vet Clinic. The one young vet was a bitch.

He used to throw the ear tattoos in for free when you spayed/neutered your pet. Not sure if he still does that.

I used the Vets just south of the Balzac mall for Gracies TPLO surgery. They came in over $1300 cheaper than any Calgary VET, and they were highly recommended by other Vets. The quality of the care has been definitely above par.

Trans canada on 16th ave. It's cheaper than most other vets but they also have really good staff.

    Agreed.
But only for routine stuff like boosters or spay/neuter.
I wouldn't recommend him for anything else

A friend of mine swears by transcanada...

I've been hunting around for one of the good ol farm vets again; had one for decades - bring the dogs down when he was coming to deal with the larger animals, dogs got dealt with for next to nothing. I just about had a heart attack last time I had the dogs shots done; over 5x what I was used to paying... And he was a good no-nonsense vet, never once thought he was trying to hose me with useless tests etc... Not exactly someone I could have deal with stuff like Pepper's FCE, but for the normal checkups & shots...
