    Default Coffee Debate

Some say the caffiene is greate for cutting and it boosts the metabolism, others say it spikes your GI, which is counter to cutting. Any help here?

I've definitely read more reports/articles/etc that are in favor of coffee. Myself I love coffee, nothing like a good black cup of fresh ground coffee in the morning. If it isn't good for me I could care less it feels so right.

A good quality cup of black coffee per day is good for you based on everything I've ever read.

Drink 5 pots a day and I'm sure it's bad, and don't put cream & sugar in it.

Yeah that's what I was going to mention. A lot of people give coffee this negative perception and I'd be willing to bet nine times out of ten it's people getting their double doubles or so decked out to the nuts Starbucks drinks.

A normal cup of black coffee will only have between 5-10 calories and the taking the caffeine's effect into consideration it might actually negate that completely.

Thanks for the insight guys, still not sure if the caff is better or worse for you from a cutting perspective as despite the benefits discussed here I still think it bumps your gi. Take take my americano with half and half, no sugar and am feeling like I may as well keep it. For the record I'm fairly strict with the paleo diet which I swear by making the cream in my coffee my only dairy.

Order an Americano and you can be assured the brew is fresh, better yet organic if you can find it. Just black jack, save the others for after dinner at mom's place.

I think in General, yes its good...

Why? Well caffine is an effective a stimulant with relatively low side affects in low-reasonable amounts.

For alot of people Coffee is the only laxative in their low fiber diets...
It does have anti-oxidants, but its not substantial... but better than nothing (doesn't compete with white/green teas)
For some... it will hydrate you to a degree, as not enough people drink enough fluids at all.

It does reduce diabeties, but I think that is with any caffinated substance... as it is in general is a stimulant, which improves your metabolics & insuline activity.

On the other hand, it can cause hyper tention, dependancies and added stress. Can cause insominia and other things.

I drink about 3-4 cups a day, and that is honestly too much, but it makes me much more affective at getting my day-to-day done.

It also has been proven to improve reactiveness and improve overall performance for sports

I drink a ton of coffee, with a bit of milk sometimes, but mostly black.

If a cup of coffee is 8 oz, then I have about 8-10 "cups" of coffee a day.

Which, leads me to piss about 20 times a day, and keeps me regular. lol

I hear the fat in the milk/cream helps slow the quick influx of caffeine to prevent the jitters.

I have an espresso maker, so I rarely have just drip coffee anymore. Lattes and americanos only.

Over the summer, I got hooked on fresh coffee... my office mates were the ones that needed fresh beans, and would grind them up, and make a fresh batch... I used to only have the instant, but fresh is a whole new level.

If you drink a lot youmay not want to go sans cream... Dentist said that adding cream to coffee helps prevent teeth discoloration from coffee.
