Cat's Head Found On Doorstep in NE?

What is wrong with people?
I heard on the radio that there was a cat's head found on a doorstep in the NE.

From the Herald:

Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after the severed head of a cat was found on a doorstep in the northeast.

An arson detective made the gruesome discovery Monday following up on a suspicious fire at 7100-block of Temple Drive N.E.

It's unknown how long the animal's remains had been there, but police say it appears the cat's head was intentionally severed and was not the act of natural predator.

A tattoo inside the cat's ear identified the animal as a three-year-old female named Bell. Her owners, who live nearby, were notified of the incident.

Police are releasing more information this afternoon.

Pretty sick and twisted to do something like that. Killing it is one thing, but cutting the head off is another.

Lucky Alberta's animal cruelty laws are a joke, the guy wont serve any time and might only be banned from owning animals for a few years.

Although we live in Canada - different cultures place different values on animals.

Not saying what happened is OK, but it is the NE and the perpetrator may have come from a vastly different culture where cats and dogs are treated like rats and mice.

Not a valid excuse, no one cares if in the old country you go around killing helpless cats or dogs, but here it is in no way acceptable here. If your cultural beliefs go against something so basic and you refuse to follow the right way to do things, you seriously need to reconsider if you deserve to be here.

Maybe so. But that doesn't explain the fact it was INTENTIONALLY left on someone's doorstep. Whoever killed it didn't kill it because it was a pest they killed it to send a message. Personally if someone ever harmed my animals like that they would get the same thing in return. end of story.

Read the news a bit and learn about the world you moron...maybe make friends with people from other cultures, maybe then you'll posting ignorant stupid comments...I've heard of this type of thing more in rural and small town Prairies...and I'm not talking about treating cats like they're mice...I'm talking about teens torturing animals for fun...look up Daisy Duke in Didsbury...the killer is more likely a naturally psychotic loner individual who plays violent video games all day long...it's serious because this is the type of person that moves onto killing humans.

I also wanted to point out that having friends from other cultures doesn't qualify you as being knowledgeable on those particular cultures. Just because I have a brown friend who comes from an Iranian family, doesn't automatically mean I know everything that goes on in Iran.
