New hardware is in, sorry for crappy pictures. Also signing up for the Shadow Force: Long Range Shooting course. Should be good times. I will post more pictures when I have it all together!

For the price it's hard to go wrong but they are nothing like the higher end 1911's from Colt, STI, etc.Originally posted by Shlade
Anybody own or has owned Norinco 1911's?
I saw shooting edge got a batch in right now for a decent price...
Are they still hit and miss with their models or has the quality gone up (or down)?
I know some of them come with a lot of play in the slide or issues such as jamming.
IMO the best bang for the buck 1911 is the STI Spartan or Trojan, all things considered. I'm not a big 1911 fan in general though, I find all the grips WAY too small but I'm sure I could fix that.
That'll certainly help you settle your vendetta with the Whitetails of Alberta!

I noticed that your rifle has a cozy home. Will it fit once you mount the scope?

Are you looking for custom made earplugs? Or the actual product in that link? If you're looking for the actual product, why not get it from Brownells? It's listed right there in the big "Where to buy" link. Custom earplugs can be made at Costco.Originally posted by Dave P

Thanks for the heads up. No, it will not fit in the case it was shipped in. That is why I purchased a Pelican 1720 to put it in. I still need to figure out how I am going to cut the foam...
It takes practice with a hot wire. It's like a soldering gun with a thin, strong wire in a loop shape. You just keep "shaving" out the shape you want to the depth you need.Originally posted by KRyn

EDIT, Some pics of what i'm talking about:
I thought Pelican cases would come with blocked, and multi-layered foam so you can just pull the general shape you want out of the top layer...

Custom earplugs can be made by a woman that runs out of TSE. I had mine done at the last gun show at the roundup (BMO) centre. I think it was $30 or $40. And she can make them vented, or accept electronics for communications. Worth a look-see.Originally posted by D'z Nutz

Sorry, I am just commenting on earplugs which is what I assume the link is. My work computer doesn't let me see everything I want to see. lol

I called a few Hobby Shops and one sells hot wire tables for $50! I am going to check them out this weekend. I hope they will be large enough as the sheet of foam from the 1720 is rather large! Thanks for the heads up, I will post pictures of how it turns out.
Hey KRyn,
How did the foam-cutting go? Get good results?

Have yet to attempt cutting it. The hobby shop that said they had a hot wire cutting board actually didn't. They then refered me to another store that didn't have anything either. I am going to be buying an electric knife from London Drugs this weekend and giving it a go. On a side note, the gun is soooooo much fun to shoot!
Do you guys find that one set of plugs is enough?
I got a headache every time until I "double plugged" (haha).
I use these:

And this, Peltor H10A:
Both had the highest NRR Of anything I could find.
My understanding is that the over-ear protection is especially important because the foam/rubber plugs do not protect the small hearing bones against the different frequencies/vibrations that can damage your ears as well.

Beautiful shotgun though.
Anyone know where I can get 12 gauge shells for cheap?
Walmart has Winchester 12gauge 2 3/4 at 100 for $32 bucks plus tax
I grabbed 2 ammo cans of 12 gauge 00 buck from the shooting center for 115/can. Each can has 175 rounds and they had about 12 or so cans left so you better hurry.Originally posted by GQBalla

whats the difference between target loads and normal game shells?
from what i gathered from google Target loads are more precise, better grouping (maybe less recoil?) only one forum said that
Game loads (more recoil and well to hunt with)
can you actually hunt with target loads?
