I have friends with memberships at CDTSA, I have never got a membership which I am kicking my self for right now. Usually I just get a drop in pass to sight in new rifles but with them currently not allowing non-members I am SOL. I don't really see the value in Milo / CDTSA as 500 meters simply isn't challenging enough to shoot with any center fire cartridge. Calgary needs a quality range with 1000+ meters or I need some new friends with farmland that like to shoot I suppose.
We are trying to buy the quarter next to Milo to build out longer but I’m not going to hold my breath. No idea how we can afford that land.

Would be awesome if we did.

If youre feeling lazy you can consign it with Switzers. Wont get top dollar for it but will save you trying to sell everything seperately.

I am super bummed about the damn shot gun issue. I was in the market for a 12g this year and i know Cabela's is still selling them but i would hate to dump a bunch of cash in to one only to run in to legal issues in a few months. With Parliament held off for a few more months nothing is going to get resolved soon.

I wouldn’t be that concerned about shotguns.

CFP (rcmp) has stated outright that that consider bore diameter to be after the chamber but before the choke.

People have pointed out the 12 gauge thing more as an example of the Liberals incompetence in defining their new “assault rifle” ban and how little the people who wrote this legislation know about firearms.

Alberta launches survey on federal firearms policy banning assault-style weapons

EDMONTON -- The provincial government has launched its public consultation on federal changes to firearms ownership.

Albertans can participate by completing an online survey or by calling in to two town hall events on Nov. 17 and 23.

“Albertans must be heard, and these consultations will help Alberta’s government develop a responsible firearms-use policy that deters criminals without attacking law-abiding gun owners – and in turn free up the courts for serious matters,” Justice Minister Kaycee Madu said in a written release.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced an immediate ban on 1,500 models and variants of certain assault-style weapons on May 1, 2020, that he said have been used in mass shootings in Canada and abroad.

The Alberta Firearms Advisory Committee was formed in June 2020 to provide recommendations on responding to gun violence while protecting the rights of gun owners in the province.

“This engagement will help the committee develop recommendations on how the province of Alberta can better assert itself in areas of provincial jurisdiction,” committee chair and MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat Michaela Glasgo said. “Alberta’s long history of responsible firearms ownership by law-abiding citizens deserves respect; so do Albertans’ property rights.”

The survey will be available through Dec. 6, 2020.

The November town halls will each accommodate 1,000 callers on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants must register online.

Once all of the feedback has been gathered, the committee will submit a report to the minister of justice and solicitor general.
