Installed it yesterday and so far it's pretty solid. A little bit more sluggish with the new features, but that's to be expected.
love it, installed it a few days ago. i keep thinking its the torch and i try to ttouch my screen every now and then. -___-

I'm gonna wait. It won't take long for them to release it normally
What are the big advantages with OS6? I am running the factory OS and it works pretty awesome!

Watch out for the massive memory leak. I dl'd QuickPull and have it set to remind me to do a pull every time my memory hits 15MB or less.
Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul.
I downloaded and had 72 mb left LOL
I had about 82mb left after installing and it would usually end up around 35mb by the end of the day lol...otherwise I'm liking it a lot.

I just went on a torrent search engine and just searched for it.Originally posted by navdeep

OS 6 is what the torch is using. Have you played with a torch before? The one thing I really like about OS 6 is the new zoom feature on the browser. SO much more user friendly. And there is also geo tagging available in the camera option.Originally posted by Neil4Speed

Speaking of memory, I downloaded memory booster, and I remember when I had OS 5 running it said I had 128 MB RAM, but with OS 6, it says I only have 66 MB RAM, what the hell is up with that?Originally posted by SpeedIllusion

the web kit browser alone is worth the update!
anyone notice their battery life is even better with this os 6?
haven't noticed any improvements on battery, but the web kit browser is amazing. Some bugs that I found on my device are:
-Flash for camera only works for the first picture and you have to do a battery pull
-Weather eye v2 (The one from bb app world) does not work on os6. You have to download v1 from the website
Those are the only 2 bugs I've noticed on my phone. These bugs only appear to be on some 9700's and not all of them.
Really interesting, This video kind of answered my own questions. Interesting to see it running on the 9700.

Hopefully they figure out the bugs. I am still amazed by OS5 (Coming from symbian lol), love how clean and crisp it is.
I love RIM, I will probably keep my 9700 forever

... this is kind of weird
i played with the torch and thought it was crippled by crappy software and very sluggish. the browser was still painfully slow, just like how it is on my os5 9700.
when searching for information, it's still doable on a BB, but i feel like i'm jumping through hoops just to get to something simple. esp. something with selection pull-down menus that refreshes the page. everytime you select an option, it's 3 seconds down the drain.
i still wouldn't give up the keypad on the 9700 and i guess its form factor compared to an ip4, but as more and more ppl switch over, i am finding it harder to keep it for personal use. you only need a couple minutes with ios4 and its native browser to see how painful it is to browse on a BB.
edit: so i watched the above video. good to see that it the torch that's gay and os6 will be snappy on the 9700. the video still shows how slow browsing is tho haha.

Was waiting a little bit for people to test this out of the 9700 before I make the switch.
Any headaches from the people using it? Namely stalling issues, etc besides the flash on the camera stall out?
Still using it right now. The one major issue I found so far was that my battery life is down by quite a bit. Before I switched over, it could last for over two days, now it barely lasts for one. Weird thing is when I first loaded the OS I didn't have this problem. Just been having in the past week. And I've done a hard reset, swapped the battery, and triple checked that there aren't any applications still opened. I'm still investigating why this happens, and I'll post my findings once I find out.
nothing for me, cept the camera, as for the install took me a total of 10 mins. but varies from person to person.Originally posted by mr2mike

Looks really good. The browser update is a big step forward.
bugs i noticed on mine:
laggy when i get picture messages either from MMS or PIN
can't see my cursor when i'm texting or writing and email making it harder to copy something
I always get browser too large to open or something, then it boots u back to homepage, then it loads up fine
