Default Where can I get my rims powdercoated?

i just got winter tires on black steelies and realized that black wheels make my car look a billion times better, so I'm thinking that I want to powdercoat my rims. (they are just stock mazda rims.)

Does anyone know where I can get this done, and what an approximate cost would be? Also, it would be easiest if I could just bring them my wheels with tires on and they would take off the tires and put them back on when done.

    Thanks!

Get the tires unmounted. Don't be lazy.

dont even need to get them unmounted..

take them off the car, put newspaper around the tire and try and tuck it into the rim as much as you can. Tape around them.

Go grab some sandpaper, clean them off, spray primer on them and go get wheel paint from can tire.

Top Gun quoted me an insane amount to do my wheels almost 2 years ago. I ended up going with a company who no longer exists :P

    Calgary Powdercoating

Buddy paid $300 to get a set of 17" done. They looked like oem finish when done. Included sand blasting old finish off. You'll need to pull your own tires off thought.

$300 isn't too bad, but a guy on the mazda3 toronto forums got his done for $200.

I'd say 250+ for a good job. More if they need to prep it. Some guys have prepared the wheels before sending them in.

Calgary Powder Coatings. I have brought mine to them a couple of times, and they stand up to their work.

    I Highly recommend them.

my point is that i've heard of it being done for 1/3 less. who cares if it's in toronto - prices don't vary that much.

^I paid $75/rim for 15 inch. It may be more for a larger rim. This includes stripping off the old finish, and they do the whole entire rim inside and out.

I don't know why you are concerned about the price though. I think $300 is a great price. The finish on mine came out real nice, and it's tougher than paint. If you get a set of rims repainted, it's upwards of at least $100 and more per rim.

My dad got his stock 18s done at Top Gun earlier this year. I think he paid $100ish a wheel.
