HAHA I get some chuckles how people around here in these days as it is now... "Happy Holidays" seems to be the more sufferance in use. You know what? it may be true for people when it come to making money in business. That's how I see that way and compare to what I used to remember years ago.
I grew up always saying "Merry Christmas" to my family and friends because that was how I know surrounding me around. Back then, stores never put up decorations until well into last week of Novmeber! As years move on to now - stores are putting BOTH Halloween and Christmas decorations. This year I had witnessed a few stores doing that! Unbelieveable and all for the sheer scent of money profits.
I can guarantee you it will be earlier in the next 2-3 years before a week of Halloween! I wouldn`t be surprised if it do. I had already seen "back to School" sale in JULY!
Bah! All for the name of money - people are going to shout "Happy Holidays" Well, guess what? I don't care anyway. If they want say that to me - I'll say "Merry Christmas" in return. If I know one going away for the holidays then I'll say Happy Holidays for this reason - not for the spent of money at stores!
...Because that was how it was to me since as a kid! And BTW, it's not because of Christ's birthday as the 25th - the truth is no one really know exact the DAY Jesus was born. Closest they can get was the month (give a month before or take next... it's moot)
