Default Best way to cut through hard plastic without cracking it? or where to go?

To have it done? I have a GPS mount for my car thats hard plastic. WIth my GPS, the car charger wont fit with it in the stand so i want to cut a piece of the plastic out of the stand - about 2cm x 1cm, only 3 sides cause it will be on the bottom edge of the plastic.

I dont want to use scissors or do it myself and risk having the stand crack. Theres lots of industrial plastic and fiberglasses places in the city, know of any that will do this for me?

Try a dremel out and make sure you sand off the little melted plastic on the edges after.

I'm not sure about a place to do it for you but it should be easy enough with a dremmel. If you're worried about mis-cutting just use one of the stone attachments and melt away the plastic gradually instead.

you could, but it would take you a long time, would probably want a wet sand paper

    Dont do the drill.
Dremel is the only way to go for cutting like this. You can pick up huge sets for cheap around town.
Im thinking Princess Auto should have some.

Just remember to take your time when you do it.

ok got it done, i just used scissors and kept twisting the blade right into the plastic until it made a large enough hole. Not the prettiest but i dont care, as long as the charger fits through its all good

    thx all.

Will look into the dremel kits at princess auto, thx!
