Yeah, I'll just go talk to the JP, and tell him my side. Makes it worth the trip then I can try and reduce 3 tickets at once.
Not going to make another thread but where in court do you go to try and reduce a drinking in public ticket? I know it's my fault, not trying to get out of it, just seeing if I could lower the cost while I'm already at court.
The irony of you calling others' retarded, is daft of you.
You logically believe that? If he was out to make someone's day shitty, why wouldn't he just pull over the nearest person, and make it easier on himself?Originally posted by Awd-Tsi
I don't know what street it was, but there was no signs or anything saying wrong way. Also no cars parked on the street to judge going the wrong way either. I think he was just being a dick and trying to fill his quota
Lol. You don't recall which street it was, yet you "you think the cop was wrong".Originally posted by Awd-Tsi
Yes I know, I think the cop was wrong. I do delivery downtown all the time and never have problems with the 1 ways and such.

Ok, he got a ticket for going the wrong way when turning right onto 10th, so he must've been headed south (on a road where traffic heads north only), this means only McLeod and 4th. Other option is north on 5th.
All of these are MAJOR roads. Surprised you didn't get splattered. You sure you don't mean 10th st OP? Cuz I don't see how it can be 10th Ave.
cars have bright headlights for a reason ,
sigh.
I'm a firm believer in fighting EVERY ticket.
I would not go talk to the JP and admit ANYTHING till you go get the cops notes on the incident.....
If he did not indicate where this happened, I can see you having a good chance fighting it.
Go get "disclosure" after you plead not guilty, and see wtf is going on.
I suspect the cop was tired and made a mistake.
And were the retards

I still can't believe that you don't know where you were??
How the hell can anyone help you if you can't even properly document the event that happened?

I was going at an unreasonable rate of speed, and was pulled over fr speeding.
The cop said quite irate "Do you have ANY idea how fast you were going?!?!"
My response was simply, and half jokingly "The pertinent question in this situation is do YOU know how fast I was going?"
Had a cool cop, and he chuckled, but the point is the same regardless of outcome.
PS, never say "I don't know", you can avoid the question, but don't answer "I Don't know", as even if you know, they will use your words to then charge you with "driving with undue care and attention"

I dunno how you figure he was heading south, but OP clearly deserves the ticket.
Soon someone will chime in that is sensitive to the word retard and get all up in a huff. Usually happens in every forum.Originally posted by ericchoweg

I'm pretty sure 10th ave has lanes running both ways, so I'm a little confused?Originally posted by Awd-Tsi
Got this ticket from a cop downtown. I was turning right onto 10th ave and then this cop does a u-turn at the intersection to then pull me over half a block down. First off I didn't think I was even going the wrong way, there wasn't any signs or anything saying wrong way or no turns. Second, I don't know how he could even judge where I was since he was on 10th ave when i first saw him... How do you fight this ticket ?
Were you turning off 10th avenue or on to 10th avenue?
Maybe he got confused with all these signs?
IM SURE it was 10th ave because I drove straight by vinyl night club shortly after.Originally posted by Feruk

There was no incoming headlights, no cars parked on the side of the road, no signs. It was turning right onto 10th ave is what I know
The only way to fight IMO is to ask for leniency.
It helps your case if you have a clean abstract, obviously.
If you go another route and say you didn't see it or whatever excuse (because it is clearly your fault), you'll definitely be chewed alive in court.
10th ave is not a one way. You must have been driving the wrong way before you turned to 10th.
You think if you are going to fight the ticket, at least remember where it happened.
