Default LF: Graphic Arts Employment or suggestions (not for me)

My wife is getting pretty tired of her current job, they have unrealistic expectations, and seem to think she's a computer programmer, or that computers are magical devices that anyone can do anything with, on the snap of fingers (especially photoshop)

She has no post secondary, but does have the following
    - 3 years experience as a real estate legal assistant
    - 3 years experience as an immigration legal assistant/receptionist
    - 2 years as a receptionist
    - 4 years as a graphic artist (where she fixed old degraded photo's, other people's horrible photoshops, and general enhanced them all, also designs pamphlets, and makes tribute videos)

If you know of anything similar to any of the above, please let me know. I thought I'd ask Beyond first for her, before the real job hunt begins, as it's always good to know what a company is really like before applying.

Definitely prefer anything in the south, and not downtown unless parking is paid for (or subsidized)

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

So she only generally fixes up photos? Is that her skillset or is she very familiar with the entire adobe suite? For any graphic design jobs she'll most likely need a good portfolio before she applies (don't know if she has this already or not).

I know Critical Mass is hiring or at least was hiring. Husky Oil, CRN Group, H&R Block, THG Consulting are all look for graphic designers. These positions are probably really focused with print production and the use of InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator.

She's putting a portfolio together since she decided to start looking elsewhere.

    Thanks for the suggestions, van.

Not to be a downer, but as a graphic designer, that describes the industry pretty well.

If she wants something out of the core, try applying at small print shops like Minuteman, or any of the other hundreds of shops like it around the city. They almost always have/need an in house designer for booklets, pamphlets, etc...
