i had also heard a rumor that Subaru is going to seperate the STi from the Impreza and we will see a "new" STi for 2012 that will be on a diferent platform than the Impreza. My guess is the FT-86

This looks really good. I may have an Impreza sometime in the next couple years so hopefully they decide to build this one. I'd definitely consider buying one.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

I've never really liked the look of the Impreza.

But that actually looks decent. Not particularly edgy, but decent.

subaru needs to dump these chrome/silver grill accents, but other than that, looks good, i also heard about the STi line getting put into its own subsidary make like Scion

I agree. hopefully they keep it sort of like that, but also make it more...Subaru-ish. I dont think a hood scoop would look good on that, let alone the STi wing. :/

but if they are seperating the STi from Impreza, then i'm all for that design on the Impreza.

    ^^^ HA!

I was about to say the same thing!

I don't mind it, not overly impressed by it, but I don't mind it. It really looks like a Scion TC in my eyes...

STi could never be a luxury oriented brand i dont think, the company was built with the development of vehicle performance in mind primarily. going the acura, lexus or infiniti route wouldn't happen for subaru for a long time i bet.

I like it! It would look nice in black. A lot different than the current design.

Looks pretty good. I hope they don't separate the STI from the Impreza. I always liked how the STI was just the performance orientated version. Just like how the M3 is the performance oriented version of the 3 series instead of a whole new model on its own.

Didn't they have a Legacy STI in japan too? If they did make the STI its own model won't they have to make the legacy version its own model as well?

    I agree.

Not that it`s a bad thing, but the styling cues are far from your typical Subaru.

I have yet to embrace the new design language at Subaru - though maybe over time that will change.

^^ looks good, but the side profile looks abit too squared. Especially the rear. They need to add some curves or something to the rear .
