Question Moms / Dads I need help

What are the "hot" toys kids are asking for, as Christmas gifts?

    Boys:
    Age: 10
    Age: 8
    Age: 5

    Girls:
    Age:10
    Age: 8

Normally we would call the kids and ask them what they want or when we saw them, but after a falling out with the parents it would be really awkward to call the house.

Edit: $50 gift limit per child.

    Yes I am twollin

Go to any elementry and ask the girls how many of them have phone maybe not an iPhone but they all or most of them have phones. I know for a fact because I pretty much help raise 3 nieces and there on there 400th phone.
Ask the op and shell tell you they probably have a cell.

I prefer one expensive present then buying them ten presents where It becomes more expensive them buying a iphone.

    /end of twollin

Might as well abort that family like an unwanted fetus if they don't want to talk to you.

Oh good! It got tough trying to set up a date by calling their house phones.

I'll didn't think kids had phones that young.. Weird.

To the comments above, I cannot leave the kids alone.

They are my godchildren / nieces and nephews, and it's not their fault that the adults do not know how to get along.
Christmas is for kids, not adults IMO.

I'm not buying phones for the kids, that's a decision for their folks if they want them to have one or not, and it's over the $ limit anyway.

So you want a present that will blow their parents' present out of the water? Sneaky...

Just get them a gift card to chinook mall. Kids like money, kids like to buy each their own stuff plus they're cheap to mail.

I don't think a 10yr old kid would be too thrilled to get "cash" on Christmas, and I know the 5 year old would be even less excited.

Kids to live unwrap things, and for xmas it had better be a toy of some kind - but for the life of me I am completely clueless this year as to what to buy.

Up until 2010, we saw these kids at least once a month - more often it would be 3 times per month. We knew their likes and dislikes intimately, and then this year we've seen them all of 4 times all year.
It sucks that they are growing up and we are losing touch with them, but that's not our decision to make. They are not my kids, I am only Auntie.

So it's not a point of trying to make a huge splash with a fantabulous gift, it's more of trying to figure out what is current and hot and won't be in the store return box a week after christmas.

Be the crazy aunt that gives books! As much as I liked getting LEGO and cool stuff, I always enjoyed getting a good book.
