Its back online again, following them on Twitter is the best method though.

I'm currently in my tinfoil bomb shelter, thinking, what do you think the probability is that WiKiLeaks is a front for a foreign intelligence agency? They sure have taken a large distaste for the USA, it wouldn’t almost seem like someone like the Chinese would be able to do this, especially with their reputation for having a pretty powerful cyber-intelligence department.

Because when dealing with China/Russia/wherever, you probably die when shit like this gets out.

Haha, UK issued a gag order on their own press not to publish the leaks. It is amazing how even some powerful governments really do not understand how the internet works

They are not a front. It just seems one-sided because their non-US leaks don't get any attention (but there have been many, huge, non-US leaks on their site) and the citizens of those other countries either can't get the info out, or probably take bribes not to, depending on the country.

In some cases (Kenya genocide) WL staff have gone to those countries to dig up dirt in person.

There is a good TED interview with Julian here that explains the organization a bit better:

In this case, its more of a gag-request than a gag order. If all the other media in the world start reporting on it, I'm sure the UK media will start publishing it.

Julian Assange will die in a car "accident" probably will be drunk, or with a transvestite hooker too. Too bad it will be much too easy to stop this, not holding my breath that anything of interest will come out.

You know our governments obviously do shady shit in the world, but I guess I have more faith in government then I think I do. As I see it nothing will happen to him short of jail time, because out governments still respect free speech and human rights enough not to "accidently" push someone out the window + the free press and free speech.

But I've always seen it in an American kind of way, the government should fear the people.

    Thanks for the video googe

Yeah, his motives have lost a ton of credibility. Why doesn't he work on "achieving reform" in countries that kill people for stealing and stone women for getting raped?

So out of the entire worlds "leaks", 8 of the 20 are aimed at the USA, and... not one of them are aimed at any countries in the middle east, which are the most corrupt cesspools of political filth on the planet (they just don't have as much power). Just checking. Thanks. I thought I saw cowardice in there somewhere.

Dude, how do you always find a way to knock the ME in every thread?

Wikileaks receives leaks from people that decide they got something to leak.

It's not like the dude running the thing has a choice whos going to approach him with information.

Besides, everyone knows that those crazy A-Rabbs don't use computers anyways. RiiiiiiiiiiighT?

But everyone already knows that. That would be the world's least surprising leak, proving corruption in the ME.

It wouldn't be a leak, it would be a plug.

Because shithole countries in the middle east don’t have a global agenda of world domination. The western imperial nations have the most powerful militaries, the most interventionist policies, and control the world’s economic system with which they use to establish control over other nations. Of course the biggest leaks are going to come from the nations with the biggest aspirations and most amount of pieces on the chessboard. But is see the western propaganda media has worked on you. While the US is killing millions around the world through both military and economic means, you’re concerned with some middle east countries internal policies or some random person getting stoned.

    Bingo....

Most daunting is the task of removing the blinders from people that refuse to see this.

I wonder how governments plan on handling this stuff, you would think at the rate of digital intrusion into government computers that governments would seriously consider starting to store everything offline and through transporting files on USB drives.
Dude, even keeping a network offline from the web is no longer secure. This shit is pretty awesome, and scary at the same time.
