Why buy a wagon if you don't need the space?
Not everyone needs to lug stuff around as they get from point A to B, and in my opinion (and most people's, from the looks of it), sedans look better and are better suited to people's needs.

You can't tell me the majority of ppl with sedans have never run into a situation where they needed the extra space a wagon could provide.Originally posted by Super_Geo

There are lots of cars which I do think look better in sedan form than wagon form (Volvo S60 over V70, Mercedes C-class, Lancer, soon-to-be Mazda 6) but I would still opt for the wagon version every time if I had the choice.
"Its because they're stupid, that's why. That's why everyone does everything."
Many cars here aren't offered in a wagon cofiguration, so that's why we see fewer of them on the road. SUVs and minivans are what most people go with if they need the extra hauling space.Originally posted by Super_Geo

A sedan would suit my purpose 98% of the time, but I don't mind the extra weight penalty of a wagon for the 2% of the time I really need it.
I have a question about wagons that I never quite figured out. What makes a wagon a wagon? When I see cars such as a Protege5 I think of them as a wagon. One of my friends has one and when I spoke of her car as a wagon...she got all offended and corrected me saying that it was a five-door? Is that just some trendy name for young people that drive a wagon or is there really a difference? I'm clueless in this area.
5-door = wagon = estate. All the same!Originally posted by girlRACER

IMO, yes.Originally posted by girlRACER

I'm pretty sure a PT Cruiser would be considered a hearse.
You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
Well its funny, my registration says light truck and my insurance says wagon. I usually refer to it as "the car".
Chrysler Says its a "PT" (personal transport).
Take your pick.

My girlfriend called it that before she sat in it the first time LOL
I stand corrected. Ford Focus has a 5-door hatch and a station wagon.Originally posted by girlRACER

Some companies have got trendy names for the wagons. Audi has their Avant and BMW has their Touring.
hmm perhaps. I still think the 5 door hatch for all intents and purposes is a wagon, just with a smaller "backpack". The 3 door hatch is a coupe with a hatch back.

They should all be forced to rename them station wagons. Except for PT which would be hearse.
I just prefer the sedan for some reason, don't get me wrong I like the WRX wagon too but the body of the sedan looks nicer.
What is the weight difference between a Jetta Sedan and Wagon?
