Default Why get a sedan when you can get a wagon?

I just want to know what ppl's reasons for selecting sedans over wagons is? Only possible explanations I can think of are lighter, more rigid and maybe better looking.
But honestly, a wagon is just so much more practical. IMO, they look better too. Why wouldn't you want one as your daily driver?

I bring this up because I was really pissed off to see that Jaguar is not bringing the X-type estate to North America. Its cause BMW and Mercedes don't sell many 3-series and C-class wagons here... A shame, they are beautiful cars.

I would have bought the S4 in an Avant (Audi's term for wagon) if they were available here. However, they are now available in the current B6 generation.

    Wagons are cool!

I think wagons are sweet...I mean imagine blowing the doors off of the vette or stang at the track mind you *wink wink* in your wagon, you used to bring 5 members of your family to watch you in...

I think its the stigma of "HAHAHAHA Arif's driving a wagon"...and the "Man oh man i am getting old, I went from my 2 seater to this..."

But the WRX, and the Audi's and the Volvos, thier wagons look incredible and haul ass to boot...

Oh ya... those audi wagons are incredible. I would love to have an RS4 wagon like above, or one of the new ones would be incredible to have too. I would definately buy one over an S4 sedan.

The WRX STi would be great in a wagon. Too bad only the WRX is available in both styles.

The thing is, wagons are pretty much being phased out by SUV's, alot more popular now anyway....some wagons are pimp, even though i think sedans look better i wouldnt mind a B3 Passat G60 syncro wagon

the weight difference between sedans and wagons is negligeable. I think it's a matter of taste man...but wagons come in handy if you want to haul more stuff or have a dog you want to bring along on trips, or really any other reason why you would need that extra cargo space in the back.

Yeah for a daily driver, its almost like carrying a backpack for your car everywhere you go. Its definitely taste, but if you appreciate utility/versatility you can't beat the wagons. SUV's are gas guzzlers and they also fuck up the insurance stats because of the heavier weight and higher bumper heights, but to each their own.

I chose the wagon for it's flexibility and the extra room in the back. In the WRX's case, the sedan doesn't have split fold seats. It doesn't even fold at all, for structural purposes I think.

When I drove down the U.S. this past summer, I was able to bring tons of stuff back, and still had room to sleep in the back. Not the most comfortable place to sleep, but sure beats sleeping sitting up in the front seats.

Plus, the wagon has more of a "sleeper-ish" look to it. Surprised quite a few ppl out on the streets.

There have been STi wagons in the past, unfortunately not over here though! They're very rare as well, bugeyes style at least.
