If your friends is into cars, Porsche Design is a more contemporary line.

I hope this is within the Forum rules, but if you are downtown and find something at Madison and Page let me know, and I should be able to get you a discount. (Not my business, and I wont benefit from the sale)

ugh, just went to go look at their site... looks like elegant and classy does not come under a price of $300. FML. My asshole burns at the moment.

BTW... she is a Business Fashion student in London, soo I don't really want to get her a no-name brand, as she deals with obviously a lot of fashion oriented people. *sigh*

edit: there's a nice simple elegant, slim dunhill rollerball for $385...

Hey what makes you prefer a Mont Blanc over a Cartier? Like a lot of these fountain pens seem to be about the same circumference.

Its more look than anything - If I am buying a $300 pen I like the distinctive look of a Mont Blanc vs a Cartier which could be mistaken for a high end Cross pen.

To each their own of course.

I dont know what the discount would be, but it will certainly help. If you are DT your best bet is it head in and take a look as stock changes quite frequently. If you find something you like, take a picture or get the model number and we can go from there.

I have a Mont Blanc Boheme myself... in rose gold and black, i prefer the rollerball because it glides a lot more than the ballpoint IMO... i purchased my mother the Marlene Dietrich pen for christmas last year, if you get the regular precious resin version rather than the Sterling Silver one, it retails for around 600 if I'm not mistaken.

The Mont Blanc Starwalker is a nice pen for around the 390 dollar range... I think they just came out with a new one using black steel which starts even lower, around 350... but it might be a little bit masculine for your friend.

She might love the Starwalker Cool Blue... its a pretty feminine pen... but it retails closer to the 500 dollar mark.

Actually the refills is where the replicas dont do so well. Thats the easiest way of telling whats real and whats not.. The Authentic refills have to be modified in order for them to fit. (Or they use a different generic refill all together)

Brinkhaus used to carry some pens years ago. I picked up a Graf von Faber Castell from there.

How much do refills cost at Reids?

Also, how come Reids doesn't have a website? We're nearing 2012 and it still has no website.

Any other stores other than Reids? Preferably cheaper than Raids perhaps...looking for fountain pens as well....

    Thanks

I used to work at Jewels by Maximes and they have a pretty good selection of Mont Blanc pens and all the refills. Head to chinook and ask for Matthew, he'll give you your best price.

Disclaimer: If this is considered advertising let me know and I will remove it. I do not work there anymore and will not benefit from any sales they make.

Thanks bro, I checked out their website but I see no pens category?
