Found this link on Ford Forum. This method would allow you to paint your rims, the biggest benefit of using plastidip is that it can be easily removed.

Interesting.
Similar, in effect, to vinyl wrapping a car. Creates an interesting finish (like flat/satin) which essentially protects what is under it until it is ready to be removed. And it WILL be removed, since this flat/satin fad is going to end in the next couple of years I figure.
I love this idea! I wonder how this would hold up in a Calgary Winter!
That doesn't look too bad, I just may have to get my mom to send me a few cans and check it out. I wonder if you can get that stuff here.
A lot of Titan owners have been using Bed liner for their wheels (Rustoleum or Duplicolor) for the satin black look. Not many chip off but if they do with the bed liner they can just fix it on the spot with a rattle can.

I used this to paint the emblems of my 350Z. It's been holding up fine so far, but I haven't driven it much at all.
It is available at that store mentioned above, it's where I got two spray cans from. Because I wanted to paint my winter wheels as well, but I think I've dropped that idea now, considering it's too much effort.
looks pretty good, just curious about durability
If anyone is interested to see some pics...not the best quality as it was in the garage and getting dark outside. But gives you an idea.
I'm interested in how long it lasts, how it chips, etc. Cool concept.

i think it would last a while, but the idea is that it is not permanent so you can switch it up often so i doubt longevity is a big concern.Originally posted by 911fever

Plasti Dip is a multi-purpose air dry, synthetic rubber coating that can be easily applied by spraying, brushing or dipping. Plasti Dip protective coating products resist moisture, acids, abrasion, corrosion, skidding/slipping, and provides a comfortable, controlled grip. It remains flexible, stretchy and will not become brittle or crack in extreme weather conditions; -30°F to 200°F.
I'm pretty sure I read on a celica forum that someone tried painting their rims with something similar to this (Not 100% sure, but I believe it was rubbery) and ants were eating it
LOL WHAT
There aren't any home hardwares in Calgary....
Are there?
Used to be a small section in Chesnes of Edmonton trail, but they are gone.
