OOOOoooo....
How much does it cost for the one by kilkenny's and does it get busy in the mornings/afternoons?Originally posted by cream
its called a dog/wash thing.. haha by kilkennys. i like it was close to my highschool and now close to uofc
also the car wash across the street from t&t lasts wayyyy longer than the one adjacent to the tire place. Havent really timed it but its atleast a good 30 sec +
Gonna wash my car on Tuesday after my last exam so gonna visit either the dog place or centex
Don't know the exact times but they're loonie and toonie. Not that busy during the morning. 6-7 bays?
went here today and thought it was a major ripoff, for these reasons:Originally posted by Graham_A_M
I use the Shell gas station in Deer Valley. It costs me all of $4.50 to wash a F350 crew cab, doing a full wash.
On my car its $3.00, and not even a buck for a quick decent hose off (all you need in this weather)
1) before you enter, you pull a ticket which starts the clock on your wash.
2) it's so steamy in there, you can't see 2 feet in front of you (not kidding). I literally had to get out of my car and walk around to figure out which bay was open. (paying for the wash this whole time.)
3) turns out the only open bay was the one on the right immediately when you open the door, which is very difficult to manouver into (requires backing up a couple of times). I remind you that you are already paying for the wash at this time.
4) by the time I finally got into the spot, I figure I had already spent $1.50 on the wash (it seems to be $1/min.)
5) when I went to use the soap, there was no soap!!! None that I could see, anyhow. I don't know if they ran out, or just use really crappy stuff, but either way it was ineffective.
6) when my car dried, it had an even layer of salt all over it - more than was there before I went into the wash! they are either using recycled salt water, or the lack of soap somehow just spread the salt evenly over my car.
This "wash" cost me $4 for a simple spray down, and I actually had to go to another car wash afterwards.
^ interesting. I was there twice today washing a big 1 ton and my DD. No salt problems (Do you drive a black vehicle?). Yes its steamy as most car washes are in this weather, but I washed both vehicles today for $6.50 so $4 for a spray down is kind of odd.
usually a quick spray down costs me $1-2, so little they dont even charge me.
And no its $.65 a minute, they take that whole "time it takes to take your ticket and pull into the bay" into account so they dont charge you for the first minute.
I find it odd the soap doesn't work. I've been going there for YEARS and never once had that problem. By soap you mean the foam brush? there is that, then there is the "soap" of which comes out of the pressure gun. much like a Rinse but with soap added in.
Ah well... it must have just been a shitty day for you.
