Default Experiences with canadianaffair.ca & Thomas Cook to the UK?

Has anyone booked a trip to the UK with www.canadianaffair.ca? Their flights are pretty cheap, actually, very cheap. They book all their flights on Thomas Cook, and fly to Gatwick vs Heathrow. Never flown with them before. $862 round trip direct to Gatwick via Thomas Cook. Vs $1400 direct round trip to Heathrow via British Airways.

I'm predicting it will cost me 100-150 extra at the end of the round trip to travel to and from Gatwick to central london versus if I were to fly to Heathrow. So is it worth saving the $400? Experiences/opinions about Thomas Cook?

I'm in the uk right now having flown from Calgary to Gatwick on Canadian affair. It's a budget airline, and you get what you pay for. The seats are average and anything extra is well, extra. Headsets for the inflight movies etc are 2.50 i think, and any alcoholic drink is around 5 or 6$.

But the crew was very nice, there is a seatback entertainment system with movies and tv (you have to pay for the good movies, or you can watch the crap like sorcerer's apprentice or free) and unless you're a giant like me (6'4") the seats really aren't too bad.

I fly them because for 9 hrs, who gives a shit. Worth it IMO to save the $300+. There is a train station right at Gatwick airport that can have you downtown london in about 20mins and might cost around £15-20.

Honestly the difference between Air Canada and Canadian Affair flights is minimal and definitely worth the savings.

Freeskier pretty much covered it all, i booked flew with Canadian affair, and well the seats where small, and your only allowed 1 luggage. i went in July with 3 girlfriends, and we are all small girls and i found it squishy...lol

as well they are very very strict about luggage weight!!! even a little over they will charge you.

i probably would pay for the diferenece in airfare, as there flights are "standby" like you have to doulbe check in 72 hours before your departure if the flight is still going.....so if your on a tight schedule i wouldn't fly on it.

and yes the train to london from gatwick is like 45 mins (iirc) and 15 pounds......

    hope that helps.
please don't flame me, or i'll have to learn how to use the ban button
