Anyone know what's currently happening at Southland Station? The Redline has been shutdown due to a cps incident.

Has anyone bought bus passes or bus tickets from the city’s store?
https://cityonline.calgary.ca/Pages/home.aspx
It’s the most inefficient thing ever. We ordered some a couple of weeks ago, it showed up fairly quick, but I was blown away by the hand filled receipt (ok they used a date stamp but everything else hand written) as well hand written addresses (to and from) on the expresspost envelope. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone actually brought it into a Canada post office to drop it off.
Someone tell the city it’s 2017 and they’re doing it wrong.

Calgary releases a new transit fare system. Doesn’t work on iPhones. Fitting

Its been nearly 10 years since this project began, started/stopped 4 times (by my count), incurred countless cost overruns...
Just because it's released, doesn't mean this mess is over. There are bureaucrats that have earned their pensions by managing this project.
See there you go trying to ruin a perfectly good android joke

App store is a pain to get the app available has to be reviewed first. Might take a week evenThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Where's the "I'll take my chances and not pay" button?
If the ticket was activated 30 seconds before showing it to the transit cop... is that an issue? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Show QuoteThis will make it interesting for their fare revenues, especially if the people who use park & ride and then the train realize this. You could theoretically ride the train for the cost of a single ticket per week since they expire after 7 daysThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Yup, count me in. I park and ride, and I've debated just not buying a pass at all. With the frequency of ticket checks, there's a good chance I would come out ahead if I just paid the fine every time (although, not sure if the fines have gone up recently, they used to be around $120 or something). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. edit: that's if/when I go back to working downtown, which won't be for another quarter or two at the earliest.
The fines are up to $250 now and go up each offence I think, so not worth it right now. But now that you can just validate a ticket when you see the transit cops hop on, your cost goes to $3.50 per week. Just make sure you ride between the doors so you have time to validate your ticket. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Pretty sure it shows a timestamp of when exactly you bought the ticket. If they are smart, they would look at that and still issue a ticket if it was within the last minute or so of checking.
The offense is failing to provide proof of a valid fare, not being late in validating your ticket. That's why you can get a ticket even if you forget your pass and have a receipt from weeks ago showing you bought it or have a new book of tickets in your pocket. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Buy your single ticket on Monday morning, ride for free until Friday morning when transit cops get on the train, validate your ticket in the app and show the cop. If you don't get checked, that ticket expires 7 days after purchase (which is stupid in it's own right).

This is like that thread where everyone discussed the ways of scamming impark out of thier parking fees.

Doesn't the app stores get 30% cut or they found a way to by pass it like Netflix?
And if the app just show a QR code or something similar to be scanned for verification, won't a screen shot of a valid pass can be shared? Or is the scanner is smart enough to only accept that code once every 90mins?
I wonder if the scanner activate your phone to call home for a real time verification code. And not read by human. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Green line prep is started.
Not a infrastructure Eng but why do they need to move all the services??
Benefit of going sub surface... Go lower. Bypass all services.
