Default All wheel drive nissan altima build - blog introduction

    Hey all

My name is Billy and I'm from Ontario.

I've been prepping my 1995 Nissan Altima for a full all wheel drive conversion utilizing Nissan Attessa and Nissan related components.

My blog is a enthusiasts journey and perspective on building the car and exploring the options available in the market.

Please let me know what you think.
All comments are greatly appreciated, including suggestions on how you think I can make my blog bigger and better.

    http://www.awdu13.wordpress.com

    Cheers guys/gals.
    - Billy

Have you thought about creating a one-of-a-kind supercar by using a 300zx as a donor, coating the front 1/3 with sheet metal and epoxy, and establishing it as an ultra luxury brand by inverting the infiniti logo?

youre getting all the U13 SSS Bluebird drivetrain and keeping the KA? good on you for trying it out with the truck engine, personally would have just done the SR and SSS drivetrain into a LHD chassis since everything should jsut line up no prob, but thats just me and my laziness

Good luck with the build. Hopefully it works out.

Not to hijack your thread but you might want to check out this one:

L31 Altima, RWD conversion, VK56DE swap. This guy was going to try an AWD conversion at one point but went this route instead. You may find some technical help in the 1st and 2nd gen forums there, if you haven't already checked.

lol If you don't mind I'm going to keep this one and quote it on the blog.

I do in fact have some 300zx components on my setup that have yet to be placed into the vehicle. They have however been test fitted and work well. More updates on that in the coming months!

That Nissan Altima went to the limit of the engine powerplant. It will be interesting to see how he develops his car.

n1zm0: You may not believe this but I believe I am taking the necessary steps to make the KA have similar characteristics with the SR, no VVL head though lol

I just saw this thread. I have a U13 Bluebird Sss. Very rare in Canada CAA tells me. Even with the Sr in it it is not a fast car by any means. Sure it revs to 8000 rpm but the platform seems very heavy and the Sr works rather hard to get it going. Its better to just use it as it was meant to be used as a nice daily driver. Don't get me wrong you can sneak up on lotsa cars but fast it isn't. If u want fast Awd get a wrx, evo, Gt4, or GtiR. If u need an Awd car cuz of snow where u live sumthin and you're set on a u13, bring in one like i did from Japan. I got mine with 19k on it and grade 4.5 for $2500 shipped to Vancouver and all i had to do on it was fluids, tires, and brake pads. Ive had it for 2 years now and ive never had to replace anything. If its the RHD u dont want do a LHD conversion on it which is much easier than what you are planning.

That's awesome Don. Are you happy with it? is it your daily?

I do agree that it is a heavy car. Add upwards of 330 pounds onto the chassis for the drivetrain on top of an already heavy cast iron block and I have a 700-800 lb drivetrain combination.

Laid down my first layer of Carbon Fiber today. The stuff is very tricky to work with.

Yep is my daily driver and its pretty good on gas. I even put regular in it in the winter time. Im putting the turbo off my S14 on it soon and going to a front mount intercooler. And ofcourse adding a little more boost and bigger injectors so maybe it will spool better off the line.
