Im curious why you and not the wife?
In my case it was something I wanted done for my own benefit. But also because it's a more major operation on a woman.

It's also more effective on a man. Failure rate of tubal litigation is somewhere around 2%, and only 0.15% for a vasectomy.
Also a woman is going to run out of eggs eventually anyways, so why bother with an intrusive surgery?
Nothing is more effective than a partial hysterectomy! I never have to worry about carving up the boys now, and no more periods to deal with... Whoot! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I would have probably had sex 3 times in 48 hours (ok maybe 1 sex and 2 blow/hand jobs) before the procedure .... that should help with that problem a bit ..... lolThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Interesting. Whats the benefit for you?
Got mine done at intramed and Dr Crouse today. Every step I take feels like a tug at my balls, so brutal. My 2 year old copied my slow limp walking, guess he thought it was funny. Fucking asshole.
The procedure lasted around 15 mins for me. Apparently I have extra thick vas and he needed to cut a bigger hole. Coupled with the fact that I’m allergic to ibuprofen, tomorrow and weekend should be fun. I’m told to stay off my feet for a week. The 4 freeze spray was the only pain, the rest was just uncomfortable as hell. Maybe I’m a pussy, but my balls are sensitive as shit. Didn’t want to see any of it, threw on my AirPods, cranked Metallica, covered my face with my hoodie and grunted uncomfortably through the whole thing. And ya, that smell was a surprise.
Wasn’t on purpose, but glad the appointment fell on a F1 weekend haha.

If there is any discomfort past the weekend you can get follow up appointments as needed.
I had a bit of a hitch in my step particularly going up stairs for a couple of months. It went away.

Ya stairs are a nightmare. Really could use an elevator at the house. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The procedure went down in the basement at intramed, walking up those stairs took a while too right after the procedure.

What’s the turnaround time from initial consult to actual “snip-snip”? And not that it matters but what about cost?
Calgary is so much like an iphone: iCalgary - There's a bylaw for that.
Same day is $150 and separate consultation and procedure is $100.
They sell pretty hard on the "no needle" anesthesia, but that was the most painful part. If I was doing it again I'd take the needle.
Booking "prime" Friday dates can take a while because everyone wants to spend all weekend on the couch. Now they invented Netflix you should be able to be more flexible.

$50 more for both now. I had a 4 month gap between consultation and procedure mostly to accommodate my travel schedule, but they typically book 2-3 weeks away. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I just wish this random ball tug feeling would go away. Just out of nowhere feels like a phantom hand would just pull on one of the balls and not let go for 15 mins every few hours. I guess if you’re into that it’s not a problem but I’m basically curled up in a fetal position and beading sweat whenever it happens.

That should go away, slowly....

Dammit, this isn't what I wanted to hear. I'll be seeing doc Crouse in a couple of weeks and I planned to go back to work the next day. Might have to dip into the sick days.
Don't go to work the next day. Even if you have a sitting down job. Stay home and rest minimum one day.

Alright, booked the next day off, best to play it safe. Thx for the advice!
I had mine done about a year ago. No pain after, some minor pain during (mostly the freezing). Was bored after 2 days of sitting around not in pain. Went back to work the following Monday (surgery was Friday).
I had it done at the Vasectomy clinic on 4th street in Mission. Paid $120 I think.
