With the huge popularity of dealfind, groupon, groupclick, livingsocial, and even Kijijideals... using these discounted gift cards on a date... cheap or smart?

don't do it, unless you're pretty much married.
No fucking way would I bust out a coupon on a date man.
Only if you've been dating for sometime. Otherwise you look like a cheap prick.
definitely no coupon.
its not how much money you spend in total for the date, its how much they SEE you spend on the date.
Unless shes asian, then she'd understand.
Id say bring it just in case. If she goes to the washroom after your meal slip it into the bill while she is away. But if its obvious, then i would avoid it
I would be totally comfortable doing it after you have been dating her for 6 months or so and presumably she is your GF at that point. If she judges your ass for being smart with your money kick her to the curb.

Pfft...if its a 2 for 1 coupon..hand that baby in and then tell the broad to ante up her half.
What about movie certificates? I think those are fair game.
I think movie certificates are fine, but if you're dining out at a restaurant, it looks cheap.Originally posted by cdnsir

Save those groupons for when you go out and eat with your friends
Yeah, the only way that is happening is if you two have been together for quite awhile (over a year). Otherwise I would NEVER bust out coupons on the first couple of dates.
pre coitus no, post coitus why the fuck not?

it depends on how you managed to take her out for dinner
"Hey, I have 2 deal coupons for <insert restaurant name>, wanna go try it out with me?"
otherwise, no.
Why not? You're saving her money.
Only if you're married...and then ask your wife to pay it so you don't look like a chump using a coupon
