    The Delta police, along with the West Van cops, are known as the most ruthless, ticket avengers in the lower mainland. The article - having originated in a Delta news source - isnt all that surprising.

    The VPD on the other hand, lets almost too many things go. I lived in Van for 13 years and I sped with traffic, usually going 30kph over the limit. Hardly any traffic stops or lidar traps evident when I lived there. I know they had some, and they were always at the same locations.

    Red light cameras though, I support fully. Anyone running a blatant red (NOT YELLOW) light BEFORE they enter an intersection should be fined. The orientals in Vancouver (read FOBs) couldnt care less about red or yellow - it meant "accelerate" to most of them.

    Sadly, this isn't just confined to the Delta police.

    Why has due process been eliminated? Because it's cheaper - most people don't fight their tickets anyway. In some states, processes have been put in place to additionally penalise citizens for challenging their citations in court.

    I've been a member of the National Motorists Association for over two years now, and you'd be amazed the sort of things that happen in many jurisdictions against the motorist.

    Why don't these sorts of things get challenged? Simple, who is going to fight for the rights of motorists? Really? Hell, look at this forum as an example. If someone posts about getting a ticket, most of the posts are chastising the guy for 'not doing the speed limit' or some damn thing, not even thinking of giving the OP the benefit of the doubt. WE are CAR PEOPLE. So if car people won't stick up for the motorist, who the hell will?

    I don't think a lot of people even know what communism is, just that's "it's bad, and takes our freedomz!"

    Fuck the Po-lice.

    Victoria cops=easy going, unless you're homeless and drunk
    Saanich cops = hardass and numerous
    Langford = RCMP, mostly
    Oak Bay = just piss off, we're having coffee
