Default Babies - Share your stats

My little guy was born Dec.16th, so just under two months old.

He weighed 7lbs 15oz and was 21inches long at birth.

Not sure if this is regular growth or not, but he already weighs 14lbs...LOL.

    He measures roughly 25" long.

He doesn't like soothers, but has never really required one.

He's breast fed, I'm assuming all mothers do this early.

We plan on breast feeding him for a full year.

He loves the water, loves baths, loves looking at lights.

He's starting to respond vocally, no real words of course but is definitely responding with coos & ahhhs & ooohhs. Smiles a lot.

He can support his own weight/stands if you hold his hands. He can actually roll over, found this out the hard way...lol.

He just seems rather large for how young he is, but have only compared him to a few other babies.

Oh, he prefers sleeping in our bed vs his own...lol.

My daughter was born 1 November 2010 so she's just over 3 months.

At birth she was 6 pound 14 oz. and 22" long. As of last week she is 12 pound and 24" long.

She smiles all the time and laughs a bunch too. We kept her in a bassinet beside our bed for the first month then moved her to her own room. She has also been sleeping throuh the night since about 6 months.

Here are a couple of pics.

Just needed to post this since it is fresh in my mind.

My ex from a few years ago (now just a friend) was due several days ago, but still hasn't popped. Not sure how they can weigh a baby while it is still inside, but apparently it is now over 11 lbs.

    Sucks to be her.

    That is all.

My son was 8lbs 1oz and 19.5in at birth. My wife gave birth to him completely naturally without the use of any drugs or painkillers.

He is now 15 months old and is 31 lbs and 32 inches tall. Most 2-3 year olds get confused when they see him and he is the same size as them.

Sleeping was a nightmare at first. My wife was hesitant to let him "cry it out" so we tried everything else first. It was a nightmare. He was up every 2-3 hours and was hell for me and my wife. However it took her finally being broken to give in and let him just cry.

These days he goes into his crib awake at 7:30pm and sleeps through the night without a peep until 7am and naps for about 1.5-2 hours in the afternoon.

Never liked soothers/blankies/teddies. Never needed them either.

He was solely breastfed for the first 5 months and then transitioned into solids. He pretty much eats anything we give him (only healthy food) these days and only nurses for a minute or two before bed. However those days are numbered.

He was walking on his own a couple weeks before his first birthday and started the majority of his talking at about the same time (other than mama/dada/ball etc). These days he talks like crazy.

Hard to call him a baby anymore.

My son went from 8 lbs to 12 lbs in less than 3 weeks after birth.

    LOL

Funny thing we experienced with that.

Young moms and non-moms would call him "chubby". Veteran moms and grandmothers would call him "healthy". Shows how vain our current culture is. He was 31 lbs by 9 months and walking before a year and is still about the same weight 6 months later (just several inches taller).

my boy was born march 8, 2009, he was born a month early and weighed 4.46 lbs. i have it written down but cant remmeber right now, but im almost positive he was 21" when born.

right now hes 23 months old, is 36" on the dot and 30 pounds. hes a pretty big guy. shit disturber to no end for the last month, hes getting into the terrible 2 stage.

fyi 89coupe, try and get him to sleep as much in his own bed as you can or you will regret it. im glad i stuck to my guns on that because now he wont sleep anywhere but his bed or a playpen(for sleeping at grandmas or something)

my sister let 2 of her kids sleep with her from birth(bad stuff) one just got into his own bed a couple months ago, hes over 3. the other is 1.5 years and hes still sleeping with her and wont sleep without her.

do what you want, just a warning.

as far as the rest, he had a soothie since minute 1 and would only use the green nurses soothie, he would refuse every other one. he used a soothie up until about 2 months ago, alot of really great pictures we have, he has the damn sotthie in his face, so i decided to scrap it, cold turkey lol

wife tried breast feeding but couldnt, so we used formula for the first 6 months or so and then transitioned into solids. he used to eat everything, now hes picky and wont eat fruits or vegetables unless we trick him with meat. he loves meat, straight manly from the beginning lol

he goes to bed at 730 and will wake up anywhere between 530 and 8am its deifferent everyday. today we heard him waking up around 630 then he was quiet which is normal for him, then at about 730 we hear some things going on and hes downstairs playing with the tupperware. little shit lol

Really, I can't remember that far back as the first was born back in early January of 1992 - do remember that he came 3.5 weeks early and was pretty tiny as a result, had to rush out and get a bunch of premie clothes.
    Will fuck off, again.

The girl was 8lb 13oz (she's now almost 7 years old) and the boy was 9lb 12oz (he's now 3). I don't know how two kids from the same parents can be so damn different. If they didn't look a lot alike (and mostly like me, poor kids) I would have some questions.

For anyone reading this that is about to have their first or JUST had their first, don't worry, you'll figure it out, everyone does. Just look at some of the idiots that end up raising kids. Kids are a lot tougher and a lot smarter than you think.

I don't really know how big they are now but it scares me to think of what the grocery bill is going to be like in a few years once the boy gets a bit bigger and isn't happy with Cheerios & a banana anymore.
