Whats your favorite board game?

last night I had a few buddies over for monoply / drinks, I just purchased that electronic one with the credit cards instead of cash. was a great set of games, and they went fast too. I was hoping to buy another great board game for next time. What do you guys recommend. I DO NOT like settlers of catan. I heard axis and allies is really good.

If you like games of strategy I def suggest Risk, I play it a couple times a year, usually gets pretty intense and ends in violence.

When I was younger a couple friends and I used to play Axis and Allies. The game would always last at least a few hours, but if my friend Brett lost a key battle, he'd soon declare nuclear warfare and pretty soon shit would be flying everywhere.

We used to play a nuclear warefare version of risk. I can't remember the rules, but if you nuked a territory it was un inhabitable for x ammount of turns, completely changed the game.

when me and a few boys use to play years back, it would always be at least a 5-6 hr game, with partnerships, diff contracts, loans, auctions etc etc

I have risk on the Xbox and its pretty good for sure, alot faster then playing the board game which lasts so long...

I think i might go pick up axis and allies tonight.

Pass Out in which every turn your either taking a drink, making someone else drink, or smoking (but since none of us smoke cigarettes, we're a little more creative with the smoking rule)

Monopoly's always a classic for my friends and I, same as risk when we feel like sitting for more than a few hours.

I also recommend Risk, and Axis&Allies

Ticket to ride is a good game that doesn't take long to learn and plays about an hour with 4 people. I think its pretty fun

Axis is sweet but it takes sooo long to set up! Between that and Risk, someone ends up flipping the board, especially after someone gets consecutive bullshit rolls
