I hate shampooing carpet and if you get something on mine, you're shampooing the whole house kthxbai.
Nah, why would you wear dirty shoes inside the house, that just makes for a bunch of untimely/unnecessary cleaning.
I notice Americans like to wear their dirty shoes in their houses all the time.
Never wear shoes in our house.
Seems to be an American thing (especially in states where they don't go snow), and many are shocked that we take our shoes off. The argument seems to be that bare/socked feet are "dirty."
Personally, I'd think that bare/socked feet are a lot less dirty than shoes that have been outside and are now bringing all of that dirt inside.
I do it's an Australian thing, but mostly in the summer, winter spring and fall they are usually off at the door mat

Nonsense. You've all got slanty eyes, play Starcraft, speak Chinese and eat nothing but sushi and ginger beef.
DON'T TRY AND CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE
i have to wear slippers, because we have 4 cats and there is constant cat hair all over the floor, even within hours after we vacuum.
they are also the reason we can't have nice things, like furniture. it's kinda comical - we are 2 professionals in our 30s, but our furniture looks like it came out of a frat house.

our outdoor shoes go off our indoor shoes go on.
There are lots of people that wear indoor shoes, if the indoor shoes get worn outside even once..they are replaced. We are very good about it. ...I have heard whether true or not that foot oil will ruin your carpet faster and make your carpet harder to clean. Not sure about it, just remember hearing it when we replaced our carpet. I like to wear shoes around inside whether it's flip flops or slip ons.
All my friends and family take their shoes off at our front door. Never an issue. Nobody I know thinks it's weird.
its not an american thing, it's a white people thing.Originally posted by Guillermo

Built with Chopsticks
I think op might be refering to tv shows, nobody I know where's shoes in the house, and they are all white you racist prick
On the one hand, think of all the places we go with out shoes on...stepping into dog shit by accident, WASHROOM floors!...streets where people have spit on or into moldy food...
but on the other hand, who here rolls around on the floors in our homes and eat off of it?
The worst are people who wear their shoes in their homes AND roll and play around on the floor, I had an ex girlfriend that did this, fucking disgusting...yea she was a slob. She would even take her shoes home in her bag, come home, and place the shoes right fucking on the counter in the kitchen.
I don't see any point. I know for a fact my sneakers would be harder on the carpets or hardwood than my bare feet, I hate wearing high top Nike's all day long my feet need to breath sometime, and why would I want to track shit into my house.
That being said, friends in Texas pretty much exclusively wore their shoes in their house. Also my Aussie friend did too.
what?! NO! You get into the house and you take your shoes off at the door. This isn't Macon, Georgia where all your floorings are made of tile!
I've never known any Canadians who where shoes in the house, every American I've ever asked does, or knows someone who does. (except you, now)Originally posted by Guillermo
