    Default Crazy weather

It's cold as balls and the snow just starting dumping like crazy. It's gonna be a fun commute tonight. This is a photo of the TD building from 2 blocks away. Normally both bankers hall buildings are right behind it, but you can't even see them.

Compared to a few hours later:

Yeah, just had to drive Deerfoot south from Glenmore, I couldn't see 100ft ahead of me.
We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us.

up in airdire wind is freaking HOWLING. Doesnt look bad in the picture but the snow is sideways and can really hurt your face. You can kind of tell by how the Canada flag is almost torn off.

Feels like it is -197 outside too.

    YAY spring!

Ya...view out of a north facing window at Scotia Centre was like that for a bit here too (from about 1:30-1:50pm). I could barely see the Bow Valley Square buildings for several minutes. Looks like things have calmed down now, although the snow continues to fall.

Drove up to Airdrie and back on business - roads outside of the city were fine, bit of blowing snow but no big deal. In the city though once you dropped into the valley on Deerfoot south of Airport Trail - then things got a bit iffier, lots more snow flying around and the common sense capabilities of a lot of drivers seems to have been left at home. Had one guy cut across 3 lanes after he merged on from Airport Trail and then settle into a leisurely 80kph in the left lane. Had another guy try to squeeze into half a lane between me and a snowplow - suspect he probably had to clean his shorts when he got home.

Oh and a serious head up to anyone who commutes home southbound on 11th Street NE to the east side of Deerfoot mall - the left hand corner onto 49th Avenue NE is deadly icy. Watched scores of vehicles come into that left hander too fast and bounce over the cement curb - AWD, FWD, RWD, 4WD, didn't matter what they were driving, they were all bouncing off of that right side curb on 49th Avenue.
    Will fuck off, again.

Drive safe! Took me 50 mins to get home and I left at 3:15. It's obvious who has winter tires out there tonight. Generally a slow go with idiot drivers gunning it and spinning out as a result.

Over here on Macleod Trail near Chinook Centre is pretty bad. Visibility is really poor, so I do caution everyone to drive safe!

Roads are terrible, I was spinning tires and sliding to stops and i'm even on a brand new set of winters. I left work at 4, and my commute (usually 20 minutes) took about 1 hour.

If you don't have to turn, stop, or accelerate.........the roads are not too bad.
