The only thing is that lens. Absolutely no use for it and don't wanna put in the effort to sell it and/or have it sit for a really long time, unless someone here wants to take it haha
Thanks, though!

I believe the cheapest D750 right now is $2218 at Camera Canada - if you buy local, get them to match that. Just don't give Vistek your money
If you buy the Refurb Combo for the D750 I would take the 24-120 off your hands and we could both save about $200 off the next cheapest alternative.

Yah, that Vistek staff...
Anyway, Henry's doesn't disclose the shutter count, do they? Browsing on my phone, not sure if I'm missing it. They also have body only for $1950, I just saw. That would work out to be the same cost if we split the combo. Both are rated at a 9.
Refurb shutter counts are usually very low. If you get a high shutter count I would probably return or exchange the camera body. Typically refurbs are indistinguishable from new, but have gone through extra QC steps. Warranty is still 1 year (same as USA gets on new bodies haha).
I don't see any D750's for $1950 at Henrys - if those are new or refurbs, that is a better deal for you then and you should do it

Yeah, I wouldn't be too concerned about shutter counts if they're Nikon recertified. The D7100 I bought only had 140 clicks on it and the D7200 I replaced it with had even less I think.
I'm REALLY tempted to pick up a 200-500 from one of the stores...I think it'd go good on the D810 body with the 500 F/4 on the D500.

It's a phenomenal lens, totally exceeded expectations on all fronts, including build quality for the price. Sharpness and VR are incredible (best of the superzooms). Photo Expert has them for $1579 so wherever you buy, get them to match or beat that.Originally posted by Go4Long

Picked one up at LD. Got them to match it. Didn't tell the wife. My issue is that now there's no way my gear is carry on legal.Originally posted by Mitsu3000gt

The only time I've ever had my carry-on weighed is Ryanair in Europe. I'm well over carry on weight all the time and I haven't had an issue with dozens of North American flights. Hopefully you don't get checked!Originally posted by Go4Long

the camera store has their black friday advert out, looks like they have a misprint but 7d mkii with 18-135 for $1299

Where's the ad? It's not on their website or social media.

I asked about the 7d, they threw out a bunch of different numbers including 70d, I highlighted that none of that matched the ad, and the 5d matched the price and description beside it.

Ad description says 70d?
It does, but they are showing the 7d mark II, strangely the 5d mkiii is pictured with the correct description. When I asked them about it, none of their prices matched the 70d OR the 7d, I think someone dropped the ball when the ad went to print.Originally posted by dirtsniffer

Turns out it is the 2014 PDF that is still online somehow, a 70d with kit lens (albeit updated) is now more expensive than it was 2 years ago, gotta love that exchange rate!

posterjack has 30% off everything with the code blackjack
So, no deals at TCS. I wouldn't expect them to have any 'door crashers'. All their sales events so far have been bad. There is no way they would sell a 7DII for $1299 with a lens, has to be the 70D in which case that isn't much of a deal.
Anyone seen any actual good deals this year? I've just seen the usual bundles so far (mostly on entry level products) or very mild discounts.
Don't suppose anyone would have a Sony RX100 V for half price

Looks like kind of a bunk year for sales honestly, money can stay in my pocket in anticipation of the a6500

The biggest problem this year is that everything has been 'corrected' 20-40% for the exchange rate already. Stores are advertising massive discounts, and the prices are still higher than the Canadian MSRP 6 months ago. The Nikon D810 for example is being advertised as $600 off and costs more than it did when I bought one the day it came out over 2 years agoOriginally posted by finboy

This is the case for camera gear, computer gear, and lots of other high demand electronics.
Every year though there is only ever a tiny handful of actual deals on Black Friday/Boxing Day, the rest are everyday prices with huge discounts advertised off of a 1-2 year old MSRP that nobody ever paid (basically the Soundsaround model that sadly more and more stores use now including Memory Express). This year I have not seen a single excellent deal - usually I find at least one or two.
