Steve USING a PC??? Has hell frozen over???

What's next using lenses with silly red rings???

If I had only known you were switching to a PC...........

I have a builder edition of windows with another 18 copies left. We could have built you a killer system.

The G12 is a better camera IMO. Better sensor, more dedicated controls, and no silly lens cap. I wouldn't get the LX5 unless you absolutely need 24mm wide (28mm on the G12). LX5 lens is a stop faster on the wide end too, but not as long. The LX5's JPEG engine is pretty bad, but I'd imagine you will shoot mostly in RAW. G12 has a built in ND filter which is pretty sweet IMO.

May also want to wait for the Canon S100, it will be out in a month or so. Loaded with features, including 24mm wide and likely to be best in class IQ. Price will be the same or less as these other cameras are even after this "sale", so you could still use your discount.

awesome, my GF and I were going to pick up an orange Panasonic TS3 for our Hawaii trip, 30$ cheaper than TCS.

saves me time as I'm picking up a new videocard and RAM at memoryexpress

Yeah they have a huge sale on right now, lots of good PC parts. The TS3 is a bit of a hidden gem, I doubt many people even realize it's the best of the waterproof cams currently. $319 is a good buy, I think.

Lol, true. We can't have that, can we.

I love my Canon S95, but I think the S100 will be even better. The G12 is too big for me and the LX5 is too annoying. I'd never buy a P&S with a lens cap, but it has a nice lens indeed.

I think it would start a turf war of some kind in my camera bag...Canons play dirty, I say it throws the first punch.

    Hello, I'm a Mac.

    and

    I'm a PC.

    Hello, I'm a Nikon.

    and

    I'm a Canon.

I'd actually debate that both Nikon and Canon would throw the first punch at the same time. The problem is neither knows how to deliver the knock out punch to each other.

BH just announced a major price drop on their sandisk cards, which were already much cheaper than here in calgary. a 16gb Exrteme (60mb/s) is now $49.95 ($150 at vistek) 16gb Extreme Pro (90mb/s) is now $59.95 ($219.95 at Vistek).

Both those prices are for CF Cards...their shipping is still reasonable as usual.

I bought two of the 32gb 90mb/s cards, total came to $240 including shipping and customs preclearance...they're $400 each here.

Look to be a little more in line with Lexar now, pricing wise. Good move for them.

    Their Lexar cards are also on sale $15 off. $59.00 for a 16GB / 60 MB/s

Canadian flash memory prices are totally ridiculous.

that would actually make sandisk cheaper than Lexar for the same size and speed of cards, which is the first time I have ever seen that happen.

BTW, even with the 60mb/s cards my D3s could empty the buffer pretty damn fast (and it's got a fawkin huge buffer).

is this a good budget panel to calibrate and edit with? will be grabbing a spyder3elite along with it. deciding between this or waiting for the ultrasharps to go on sale. NCIX has this @ $199 right now.

not as hot as the TD deal for $139, but 154.99+tax is not bad for this camera. alternatively, you can pricebeat the black for 164.99 right away at memX, or just grab the silver one for 164.99 as well there.

Any calibrated IPS panel should be perfectly fine as a budget panel to edit on. It will be a million times better than a TN panel.
