That was a very intense episode indeed. Overall excellent. I gotta stop reading forums and message boards regarding these 'theories' that are really spoilers that people call on later for credit, because I saw everything coming from a mile away. Which sucks, because I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were blissfully ignorant. I still enjoyed actually seeing the events unfold. It's about time. Couple things that did surprise me:

I thought Tormund and Jorah were going to get it along with Thoros. I know it seems useless for Jorah's story to fizzle out beyond the wall to find a cure, but based on the last episode, it seemed like he knew he was going to die was biding his time.

They hiked for what seemed like days and he can run back in minutes while a battle is going on? I am not expecting it to be realistic, but Jesus fuck, he is faster than Usain Bolt!

As for the pacing, I think they are forcing it a little hard, but there's only 7? episodes left... no more F'ing around, its Dragons vs White Walkers, and Danny vs Lannister time, plus Jon's true reveal, and a whole lot more.
They used previous scene time for some pretty mundane things, that wasn't even fan service, but now they are paying for it with the shortened season.. Really wish HBO had given them a bigger budget for the extra 6 episodes.

I was wondering when the white walkers would get a dragon - that was a pretty awesome episode. Dude's got a hell of an arm haha. Dany sure got there fast, but I suppose she was flying. Interesting how the walkers were afraid of the water but somehow got down the floor of the lake to chain up the dragon corpse? Also why didn't he throw the spear at the sitting dragon with everyone on it instead of the flying one? Haha. They sat there for what seemed like forever while he was teeing up. Super cool either way though I enjoyed the scene.

And Gendry - the guy's got some legs on him haha. Reversed their multi-day journey in one quick sprint, though I am sure it was meant to look like it took him a while.

I guess they also lost their zombie proof - but Dany saw them now so who knows?

Definitely some foreshadowing going on about how to defeat the walkers. They killed the leader of the small group and they all dropped, and then someone made a comment about killing the night king. Makes me wonder what Sam will find though? Maybe something specific to how to defeat the night king?

Arya/Sansa - I still can't tell if they are putting on a show for Littlefinger. It seems legit, but I can't believe Arya is stupid enough to get manipulated so easily by Littlefinger after all her training. Sansa sent Brienne to King's Landing probably because of what Littlefinger told her.

Bit of an awkward scene with Jon and Dany in the boat given that she's his Aunt (if I understand the family trees correctly).

I almost wish they dragged out 2-3 more seasons because this one is going too fast IMO. They are starting to cut a lot of corners just when compared to the 'reasonableness' of the previous seasons, of course taking into account it's a purely fictional show, they put more effort in the timeline in earlier seasons. The show must make them insane amounts of money, I don't understand why they want to rush the climax(es) of the show and get it over with so fast.

I can't lie, I'm pulling for Jonarys and I'm definitely not alone. I find it crazy that they might have the 2 lead characters related by blood and it might be somewhat acceptable by the general audience that they hook up. Sure you got Cersi and Jamie (also past Targaryans), but they were evil characters and their incest sort of contributed to their "evilness". But Jon and Dany are probably the two most liked characters (along with Tyrian), so it's a whole different ballgame.
